Zelensky could have cracked down on the nazis with our support. Corruption is always there for both Ukraine and Russia. We could have given a written guarantee not to expand NATO. In exchange, Russia could have made Donbass an autonomous region of Ukraine and agreed to continue leasing Crimea and relinquish actual claim to the territory. Zelensky could have said Russian would be respected as a language in Ukraine and torn down all Banderite/nazi statues and namesakes. They could have also committed to a revamped federal system respecting the autonomy of constituents.

The US doesnt decide the negotiations here. Ukraine isnt willing to give up all the occupied territory and russia isnt willing to leave without it.

What you mean to say is that Usa (nato) should cease support of ukraine and let russia overwhelm ukraine into unconditional surrender allowing the russians to carve up ukraine as it sees fit.

The problem with that is doing so emboldens russia strategically and therefore weakens nato security, something neither the europeans or the americans are willing to allow easily.

It's a very good thing it was a very mild winter.

Europeans are currently in an unsustainable situation and are still suffering economically. They may catch up to Russian poverty or otherwise be overthrown like the current france situation.

It's not roses and not a flex to point out they didn't die economically while severely injured.

Some institutions are better than none. Some public ones can be made better than private ones, while others are better left private. (Example is police and military for public, while restaurants and consumer goods ought be private (but regulated).) We can implement balances of power to make sure the institutions remain uncorrupted.

Force and the threat of killing is required to enforce everything, including the institutions of private markets you celebrate. The current status quo is using violence to impose its system as we speak.

Again I'm not against 'institutions', just one sort of institution.

The communist contention that using force or violence as a means of self defense is the same as murdering people is patently false. Again, you are fully aware that if you propsed whatever social system you have in mind to the public and gave them the choice to participate or not it would fail. To say that whatever means of enforcement you choose for members is in principle the same as killing or harming people that never wanted anything to do with you is absurd.

The voluntary membership method is obviously far easier if people actually want to participate. Theres literally no reason to be against this method other than the knowledge that the public would reject you
