I think the major issue Ukraine is running into and will run into is the lack of air support. We can say russia doesn't have full air superiority but if they are able to harass these columns of vehicles with helis it's not going to be easy to break through.
Every column like this should have AA support. Gepards or the british AAs or whatever.
Sadly they probably just don't have enough of equipment like that to cover every advance.
