The Ukraine has missiles that do get through defense and hit targets. The question is who was killed and what equipment did it destroy? How will it hamper the war effort? We know from the new year's eve attack that Russia is not concentrating large amounts of people in easily identifiable buildings to be targeted. That being said Russians will still be killed in missile strikes. It's war and Ukraine will have their successes.


That is why I've said repeatedly that I dont get excited over one attack by either side. You look at the big picture at what's going on.

Here the facts by ISW

Russia is behaving doctrinally and disciplined.

The command structure is more cohesive.

Fixed wing and rotary aircraft are operating at a high level on the front lines.

Russian missile and artillery production can and will continue to support the war effort and out paces the west.

Russia didn't throw the newly mobilized right to the front line and did take time to train them and put them in the rear to build defenses.

Russian tactics while unsexy are productive, specifically the choices to withdraw from Kherson and not defend certain lines. I remember being one of the people beating up the Russian defense ministry but time has shown them to have been correct. This is why it's good to have actual battlefield commanders making decisions, not politicians or people who are operating on a time line.

If Ukraine cant gain real territory and substantively damage Russian forces after months of training and preparing for this offensive, how are they going to win when Russia still has untapped manpower and a military industrial complex firing on all cylinders churning out missiles and artillery? What else can the West send? Nobody on the Ukraine side wants to logistics and manpower.
