Another reason GoW2018 sucks:

In the cutscenes during boss fights, Kratos literally gets smashed up by giant rocks and boulders. Gets repeatedly punched in the face by unkillable Balder or whatever that punks name is, gets thrown off a dragon and falls 200ft and survives taking no damage.

When player takes control: Dies after 3 hits from a Hel Walker. Jfl some of the best plot armour of all time. Completely immersion breaking

I can immediately think of like a dozen other reasons why that game was ass.

It's really a good thing this franchise had a good start. Fanboys couldn't see how dog**** the two recent ones were because the originals were so good.

Because it's a retarded comparison? Kratos in earlier gow did insane chit in cutscenes/setpieces but you could still die to regular mobs .... It's the exact same thing in god of war 2018 ..... The same goes for any game. We can break down any game to that sort of retardedness and simple comparison.

I'm really glad I never played any previous GOWs - so I had nothing to relate to.

Because I really enjoyed the last two iterations.

The last two "new era" GOW games were fantastic. Definitely deserve their place as additions to the GOW world along with the first three games of old generations.
