Hi,
I'm Amie. When I was in my early 20's I used to body build -- not to compete, just to look and feel good. I was always thin, until I got involved with a junkfood junkie and then got very depressed and piled on 40 pounds.
Now I'm almost 71 years old, and today, I was in a cardiologist's office. I was referred by my GP because I have started being short of breath and having heart palpitations. Not long ago, I had a TIA and the MRI showed I wasn't getting enough oxygen to my brain. I'm having several tests done in April, and I'm scared.
I'm 5'5" and 170 lbs. Most of it is around my middle. I know I need to move more, but for some reason, I can't make myself do it. I didn't have a car for 10 years, and so I walked a lot. Now I have a car, I barely get up off the bed. The gym is 4 blocks from here and I drive there.
I'm just disgusted with myself for letting myself get this out of shape. I went through a lot a few years back. Lost everything -- job, car, house and savings -- in the 2008 recession, and I haven't cared at all about myself ever since.
I just need someone to encourage me to MOVE. I also started the Mediterranean diet, but backslid badly on that, and am starting over getting really serious about it, counting calories and all. Might give intermittent fasting a try again.
I guess that's enough for now. Hope to get to know you guys better.

There's not much going on in this sub-forum. And the forum in general is dying and full of spam because all the moderators have left. But I would recommend you move over to the Losing Fat and Nutrition forum if you actually want to see responses.
Good luck to you!All it takes is consistency, effort, proper nutrition, good programming, and TIME.
Don't be upset with the results you didn't get from the work you did not do.
