I have been tested very low testosterone

Hello guys, I'm not seeking any medical advice here. I am 17 yrs old and have been tested for 2.4 nmol/l 70mg/dl of total testosterone today(tested on the 20th, got my results today). My workouts sucked the last 3 months and stopped improving, I thought it was the end of the newbie gains phase but I was wrong. I live in Canada as an international student. I am 5'5 141(%12-13 BF) pounds (used to weigh 147) And lost 6 pounds during that 3 months (mostly muscle tissue). Anyways I think i will be going on TRT. I know it is such a young age but it is for my health. Does anybody know whats the next medical step? I believe they will check it again (more controls). Has anybody suffered from low-T here? I am frustrated.

Before hopping on TRT (which at your age is a bit extreme), go through the check list of your health/lifestyle markers.

Low T seems to be epidemic now but so are a myriad of lifestyle changes that may have links to this.

A real doctor would not reccommend this unless they've exhausted every other possible avenue.

Your low T is probably (most likely) a symptom of some other factor that is causing it to lower. Additonally, this becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy or cycle... you stress about low-T, stress wrecks your body and tanks your sleep quality and diet/training, causing more low-T.

Get a proper expert. Doctors half the time are just salespeople who want to throw drugs at a problem.

Please check my profile to see my profile picture. Trust me I know how to work out. My diet is on point i eat 75 gr of fats a day, coming from healthy sources like dairy, nuts and avocado. Supplementation is on point i supply with creatine, omega 3, zinc, magnesium, b6 and vitamin d. My parents are also doctors and they think im living a healthy life style, they didn't believe me at first. Before they seen the results. Not mentioning sexual problems im suffering from. Not talking about whey protein and stuff like that. Im active (10000 steps a day) I eat quality protein sources like red meat, haddock, egg whites, chicken breast, greek yogurt etc. Everything was perfect until 3 months ago. Im miserable now. Stress might be a factor ofcourse, im doing my uni appplications and living alone 7000kms away from my family. But this has been like so for 2 years now, wasn't like this never.
I need help pls check my latest thread.

Sexual problems? Are you waking up with morning erections? At your age, that should be tell-tale sign of normal functions. At the same time, many in your generation seem to be suffering from ED issues from overconsumption of pornography so that could be a seperate issue.

I'd try the natural ways as best I can. Take a deload week, try a new type of training, double check diet and maybe change diet up to be reflective of your needs, try some natural supplements (MACA, Horny Goat Weed, Saw Palmetto, Vitamin D, Zinc, etc.)

Don't get discouraged. Life hits hard sometimes but you can't lose heart. Try the natural stuff and if it doesn't work, then hop on TRT like the doctors want you to. You're young and healthy, lots to be positive about.

I've been on TRT since I was 20 or 21, forgot; but multiple tests to eliminate outside factors like bad night of sleep, poor nutrition or stress causing the first test to be low. Also not too likely tyo stick you on TRT at your age anyways, hormones naturally fluctuate, sometime up or down, so they may (if smart) wait awhile to see if it just rises naturally.

TRT is a for life thing, so you and your doctors should try to see if any alternative is better; more dietary fat (you seem good on that), more sleep/consistent sleep, less stress, ect.

I went a couple years with the symptoms, and if legit low T it is hell, just being on TRT and in the normal range of 600-800 on average now I feel amazing. But again, it is for life, so it's a rather big decision to make.

Feel free to PM if you have questions, but take a long think about it; TRT is just to make you normal, not superhuman.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
    1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

Agreed brother, I will have to find and address the root cause of the problem. I just got more and more obsessed about it which I am sure is bringing my natural testosterone production even lower.

    My current symptoms are:

Bad mood/ feeling depressive(all the time)
    Decreased energy.
Problems with a growing body and facial hair.
    Decreased libido/sexual interest.
Hard to maintain a good erection/soft erections.
    Losing lean tissue
Easily irritable/not pleasant for people to be around me.

I'm leaving the symptoms here for future visitors.

Anyways, I believe my diet and sleep are well dialed in. I am traveling back to my home country to get more tests done and I will have an appointment with an endocrinologist if needed. I will keep you guys updated.
I need help pls check my latest thread.

Hi there! Yes, it sounds like you have indeed suffered from low testosterone and you should definitely seek medical attention for it. From what you've said, it sounds like your doctor will likely run more tests to confirm the diagnosis and then prescribe a course of treatment. The best thing you can do is to talk with your doctor and explain your current situation and see what they recommend. We wish you the best with your treatment!

There are a lot of things that could cause low t for guys, such as there being a problem with your balls or something wrong with your hpga. TRT might be an option for you but as previously discussed by SuicideGripMe, you do have to consider the doctor's intentions/reasoning behind diagnosing you with a TRT prescription.
First find out what's causing your low t and then try to take appropriate actions based on that
