Companies sell data all the time, but it’s generally not used in personally identifiable ways. In this case the company is literally threatening politicians with revealing person and probably embarrassing information about them if they don’t vote the way they want them to… sounds like extortion.
Also… would send a horrible message that it’s ok to out somebody, who may be uncomfortable coming out, just because you want to use your knowledge of their sexuality to further your own agenda.
It’s probably both illegal and immoral.
