i think izzy takes it as long as he tries to fight him instead of surviving. He was doing great early but got out worked with leg kicks which led to the tko

izzy's unironically extremely unlucky when they fight
I see Izzy straight up knocking him out. Alex biggest advantage over him isn't power like people say, it's his durability. Izzys timing makes up for the power gap, but he's much less durable than Alex. I think he should try to take him away early, but stay methodical, not go crazy swinging like he did in the second kickboxing fight.
as for takedowns, i'm not sure about that. Izzy has good ground control when he's in the position but actually getting a takedown against Alex is going to be very difficult. iirc izzy only ended up on top because Alex went for a poor trip and was reversed on the way down. It'd be cool to see thoughLast edited by ninetynine8; 03-19-2023 at 05:14 PM.

def not a bad pick. I just can't count Izzy out by way of how the fights actually go. The first fight for example was a decis that could have gone either way, 2nd fight izzy was teeing off, alex saved by ref counting way too late, then izzy gets carried away and gets ktfo
3rd fight alex saved by the bell, izzy winning whole fight gets koed last round
so yeah not a bad pick since he always manages to win but i'm still picking izzy

Pereira is gonna win. The only reason Izzy was up on the scorecards is because Pereira didn't wanna gas out so he didn't go that hard. It was visible at the start of the 5th round that Pereira went into a higher gear. Now that he's knocked him out twice I think he might actually go into a higher gear earlier in the next fight because he knows he can knock him out. This time he will finish him even earlier.

I think this was a big issue in the first fight. He wasn't circling off the cage at all which was weird to see. Just standing in front of a world class kickboxer is never a good idea. Hopefully he's injury free and made some adjustments because let's be honest, poatan is a bit one dimensional (granted so is Izzy). I'll go with we'll see what happens option.

Tough fight to call. Alex is a horrible matchup for Izzy. He is long / tall, fights collected / patient, can take massive punishment, and hits like a truck.
Is crazy to watch how low Alex keeps his hands, how he throws relatively telegraphed shots, doesn’t use much lateral movement, and is fine to just trade hammers.
With how dynamic and smart Izzy is, I think he pencils out as taking it…… but after watching Leon vs. Usman and how former champs are 3-12 in immediate rematches, numbers sure don’t make it likely.

Hope Alex makes it 0-4 against the Rundesanya ****g0tbender. Judges shouldn't be licking ****g0t's balls anymore since he's a challenger now and has no excuse to stay passive for 25 minutes and milking decisions. Before it was "waahhh the challenger must show more activity" excuses, well the tables have turned now bitch.
Good luck calling yourself one of the GOATS when you have a 0-4 record against a single opponent lol. I don't think it'll ever happened before in MMA, it will be biblical.

I think Alex beats him. He's basically the only guy with the size, power, reach to pressure Izzy and back him against the cage. Alex also has a hell of a chin too. These things altogether make this a bad matchup for Izzy.
Izzy can certainly knock him out, BUT. Ironically, if Adesanya improves his grappling and uses a more grappling heavy gameplan, and Alex doesn't improve, Izzy can win. Even threatening takedowns and grappling exchanges can help dampen Alex's striking threat.positivity brah crew

I recall thinking the same thing. Alex did his damage when Izzy stood flat-footed with his back against the cage and went into a defensive shell or looked for a counter from that position.
I don't understand high level MMA footwork et al but it appeared to me he was way too willing to accept that position. He did land some decent counters from there but he wins the fight in the middle of the cage 80% of the time and needs to stay there.

I said it before, I think Alex moves up no matter what after this fight. His cut to 185 must be disgusting. He would actually be one of the bigger 205ers which is hilarious. If he moves up as champ, they would probably do the Hill fight straight away. That's a good fight for him and also a great storyline (avenging Glover). He would have serious problems against the likes of Ankalaev and Jan but MMA is all about styles and timing. He has a legit shot at becoming champ champ.

Nice picks, I just wish the general betting public was as dumb as the misc or sherdog and moved the betting volume to Alex. Even though Izzy was "0-3" it was still obvious to everyone that Izzy was better, and hence he was the favourite
If we had more dumb bets going on Alex, Izzy would have moved to underdog and we would have got a much larger payout when he won!
