Given that supporting gay marriage is now a conservative value in 2023 (most conservatives support gay marriage now including the leading Republican candidate hosting gay parties [1], including most conservative miscers[2]). That makes 2023 conservatives/Republicans further left on gay marriage than 2008 Democrats (even California voted to ban gay marriage in 2008).

Many miscers will still try to rewrite history and deny this massive shift by the conservatives, and say "conservatives always supported gay marriage because we support individual freedom" but the data/history shows otherwise. Conservatives shifted way left on LGBT over the last decade.

On one hand, there is some conservative pushback on the trans/drag stuff in schools and around kids. Also, the gay marriage issue and trans/drag issue are different because the trans/drag stuff involves children (more directly) than gay marriage.

On the other hand, it went from only ~10% of Republicans supporting gay marriage in 2005 to a majority now. And we're already seeing transgenders being welcomed in the Republican party, welcomed on conservative media which would've been unthinkable 15 years ago etc., so who's to say Republicans won't similarly soften up on the trans/drag stuff over time as more LGBT members are welcomed into the tent? Maybe compromise like "you can't do that to my kids until they've reached the 4th grade".

No. The whole trans agenda has become a bridge too far for woke liberal democrats, especially when they started in on their war on gender and women.

Like gay people had no real effect on anyone, while this big trans push is ruining the very basis of society. There is a big difference between letting a couple dudes get married and being forced to accept men as women, allowing men in women's spaces, and no longer allowing anyone to reference natural biology.

I think that's how a lot of people feel. Most of us have no problem tolerating trans people, we just don't want to be forced to accept them and everything about the trans agenda.

Yes. Because most conservatives don't have an objective moral standard. As soon as a certain percentage of society accepts trans stuff, most so-called conservatives will as well. Only Christians (real Christians, not false Christians - approximately 90% of them) and certain other seriously religious people will continue to reject trans stuff. And they will be considered bigots and possibly punished by law for it.

It's really a lesson on how there needs to be limits to inclusion, like how a black rights organization probably wouldn't be better off by including white supremacists for example. Sometimes, in order for a movement to stay true to it's self, you need to do some gatekeeping or lose everything.

The trans+ community took the opportunity and tried to use that momentum to push their agenda. A lot of gay people are now pissed with the way LGBT is no longer really about gay people but gender identity bullchit now. Gay men are attracted to biological men, and lesbians are attracted to biological women.

I don't deny a slippery slope exists for that. Did you know there was a slippery slope for women's dresswear? Or Blacks in sports? Or Blacks sharing the same facilities as whites?

It's good to be aware of the slopes, what the potential outcomes are, and how to mitigate them. The Church didn't do anyone any favors by entertaining and catering to LGBBQ, neither did Liberals. Now we need to fix it.

Die on a hill? How about conquer the hill if it's worthwhile. Marriage is the foundational institution of civilization. All activity and teaching contrary to Biblical marriage are destructive to society. Divorce, adultery, rebellion against the traditional roles of women and men, lack of self-sacrificial love, and homosexuals engaging in a sinful union and calling it marriage are all violative of God's law, harmful to the people involved, and destructive to society. One example of harm in a same-sex "marriage" is that children can be adopted into them, which is harmful to the child because they will be taught homosexuality is good.

Christians do recognize marriages conducted outside of the church. God stated that marriages between an unbelieving man and an unbelieving woman outside of the church are valid (1 Corinthians 7).

My greatest fear this whole time has been Conservatives mindlessly kowtowing to a Deep State candidate that's more relatable and also replacing the Democrats as the useful idiots for the Establishment.
