Definitely one of my favorite fighters in MMA at some point.
He's fought and beaten some of the toughest dudes in MMA... He's part of the reason dudes like Frankie Edgar were never the same after he beat him twice. He's beaten Nate Diaz, Gilbert Melendez. beat Donald Cerrone twice, Beat Masividal, Rustam Khabilov, Andrey Koreshkov (the last 2 are guys that casuals dont know but tout like 24/4 , 26/4 records and are beasts who are still going strong currently)
I would say he belongs in the Hall of Fame without any doubt.
If anyone disagrees, I'm more than likely to bet they really don't know who this guy is or aren't real fans of MMA..
The fact that no one mentioned how he just retired last night says alot about how casual alot of the fans on BB forums are.Last edited by mot1ve; 03-11-2023 at 01:56 PM.

Khabilov was an all star can crusher. He hasn't fought for years. A win against someone like that does not contribute to you getting in the HOF. At all.
Henderson got dominated by Koreshkov. I know because I remember watching it. #casual
You're not as HARDCORE as you think you are.
He was obviously a great fighter for a period of time but if you look at the names in the HOF, he does not belong there.

Yeah I forgot he lost to him. My mistake. I mean if you didn't just google these guys before I mentioned them, then props to you. I really and honestly don't keep up with Bellator very much since Id ont have the time. You can have that, you're probably more "hardcore" than I am lol. Not something I attain to be in life but its nice to know that there are people on here that arent casuals.
As long as you know the fact the dude used to fight with a toothpick in his mouth we're cool
and HOF.. Yeah he should. I mean Donald Cerrone is eventually going to be HOF so why not Benson Henderson?"The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be."

Very good fighter, odd fighting style, good dude, but no way HOF. Unless there is a spot for most annoying hair flip, or spot for being on the receiving end of a highlight move.
Also gotta remember that it’s the UFC HOF, and not a global MMA HOF. Dana and the UFC did not like dealing with him, did not like his Union talk, and almost guaranteed will not put someone who left to Bellator as a free agent in their prime into the UFC HOF. If you weren’t a company man during your time, and leave on bad terms, you basically have zero shot if you weren’t a HUGE star.
Dana 100% plays favorites when it comes to loyalty, and takes care of company men. That’s why Donald may make it in eventually (not that I agree with it).
