From WSJ on housing and mortgages:

- mortgage applications lowest in 28 years

- April to June is traditionally when 40% of housing sales occur, looks to be off by 40%

- supply is stable but not selling

- expecting interest rate increases to continue [prior to SV bank failure]

- don't expect housing to recover until we get 3 rate decreases

We in the west are in for a world of hurt. While other resourceful nations are building economies based on metals and natural resources, we are still doubling down on debt based fiat currency. It can't last. We will need to work overtime to build something worth trading on the world scale if we want to maintain any semblance of the quality of life we're used to.

I don't think that literally everyone who is successful in life is a dirty cheater of some type, but the bigger the fortune the higher likelihood there is that *someone* got cheated a little or a lot or there was some sort of illegal activity or coercion via control or corruption of banking or government was leveraged.

This has been my base case assumning that no actual war breaks out. I'm 50/50 if we actually get into a ground conflict either foreign or a civil war here. I think the only solution to this is prevailing US nationalism but that would certainly take a revolution at this point.
