Just placed the order for this blacked out F-150. Got it fully loaded, and with the v8 engine.
I thought I was going to get a Raptor, but wasn't willing to spend over sticker for a Raptor. And my dealer said it'd be 2024 before they got another allocation so decided this was the better option.
Hopefully it doesn't take 6 months to get it. Will update with pics once it comes in.

What all did you test drive OP?
I tested Ford, Chevy, and Ram. Had to go with the Ram Rebel, the interior, and handling was like no other truck. What made you decide on Ford?
Wish I tested GMC as well, but I love this truck
not mine, but close..
My truck is now goin for 70k plus as well, got it last year for 57k, fully loaded

That's a really nice truck.
I've just always been a Ford guy, I probably get that from my dad. All of our work vehicles are Fords. So decided I wouldn't branch out too far. lol I also have a 2010 F-150 lariat that has treated me well over the years, so figured it was time to upgrade.
But all of the main car makers make good top of the line trucks. You really can't go wrong with any of them from what I've seen.

Congrats on the truck, those PowerBoost motors are nice. Surprising it came out to $77K. The Limiteds I’ve built on their configurator are all $85K’ish.
At this point, if I’m spending over $75K on a truck, I’m spending the extra $20K and getting a loaded TRX. They are a steal for what you get for under $100K in terms of motor, interior, and suspension.

Thank you.
I went with the v8 engine. The limiteds come with a full hybrid v6 power boost engine which is a $2,500 up charge. I do wish there was a more powerful motor option. You should be able to get the Raptor motor in it, but 400hp should be plenty.
I also didn’t get any towing packages or off road options besides the 4x4. Don’t do any serious off roading. And the guy I was talking to who helped me configure it said the fx4 off road package might sacrifice ride quality a little.
But other than the engine it should be pretty much the same as the limited. From the videos I’ve watched.Last edited by Unstumpable; 03-07-2023 at 05:28 AM.

I have a 2020 explorer st. And everything has been under warranty. But at 60k miles I had to put in a new transmission. And it’s in the shop now getting something done on the axels not sure exactly what.
Definitely going to get the best warranty possible. But hopefully they’ve worked out some of the issues since I got my explorer.

5.0 is a better engine than the TT V6 IMO for longevity reasons. Not sure if they've fixed the cam phasor issues with the V6, but the 5.0 is tried and true and will last forever, while the V6s seem to have a lot more issues. Although the ability to turn your truck into a mobile generator is pretty cool with the Powerboost, although nothing more than a gimmick for most people (still awesome though to be able to power your home/RV if ever needed). TT V6 engines will always make great torque though especially when tuned, but cruising around in a N/A V8 is simply better, even with less torque (srs), been there done that

It’s unfortunate that these crooked POS car salesman are raping people ,as I would purchased the Raptor .
I had a 2013 Raptor ,and it was pretty sweet ,but I’d sooner have the new one with rear coil over suspensionand 37’s .
But congrats on your Platinum, they’re a sweet truck.
Here’s my present truck ,a 2013 F150 Lariat .My Raptor was black , but I don’t mind the grey . Black looked great for 40 minutes after washing it, then you could see the dust

Thanks man. I’m kind of glad now I went with this one, as I always use a local car wash. And I read that the Raptor might not fit on the tracks in car washes due to the extra width. I knew that before, and was willing to just wash it by hand everytime. But at least now I’ll have the convenience of being able to just run it thru if I want.

looks nice, I'd never spend that on an american vehicle however.
I did drive a 2015 ecoboost as a work truck for a while back around 2020
rear windows quit working around the 50k mile mark, the windshield wipers wouldn't shut off around that same mark. I just don't trust ford, so i'm going to be biased about them.
hope yours works out, although I do hope you plan on using that for towing something. For 77k that's a lot of money to just cruise around in a truck.

I didn’t have a lot of mileage on any of my fords , so I haven’t had any issues . Well the door wouldn’t latch in the cold one year which absolutely sucked .
GM ftw , but I can’t afford one as it was over another 10K more for basically the same thing.
Dodge are so bad my friends foreman on the pipeline won’t even hire you if you drive a Dodge truck, as they’re that unreliable. They may be ok as a trailer queen till the warranty runs out , but if you actually have to use them in a rugged environment, they fall apart rapidly.
We use Ford F250’s at work and we beat the fuk out of them going up and down horrible roads when we have to access mountain top head ends , and we’ve had very few issues with them.
For bucket trucks Ford are really the only answer ,as most trucks don’t do well with a lot of excessive weight that the pounding gives them .
You’ll almost never see a dodge F550 converted into a bucket truck , and rarely a GMMake Misc great again

OP must work in the oil fields. LOL JK congrats OP, I hope you enjoy it. It looks setup well, and trucks are starting to look better again. I swear manufacturers were having a competition to see who could make an uglier truck. I think Chevrolet is winning that right now with their full size front ends.
