Unhappy how can I lose fat and protect skin on top of my coccyx region and in my hip creases?

I am basically having a lot of soreness/redness in this area and trying to help by putting some moisturizer there.

I'm not talking about the perineum region (the region below the exit) but rather the region above it.

Best term I can think of would be "gluteal fold" but that's already taken by https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gluteal_sulcus and I'm talking about the vertical line separating the cheeks not the horizontal lines below them.

I assume chafing in this area comes from a combination of high body fat and well developed gluteus maximus muscles.

Possibly an issue a lot of powerlifting squatters might deal with if they bulk to much and cut too little?

Not sure if it's a genetic thing but it's causing a lot of persistant discomfort.

If there's no kind of spot-targeting thing to deal with this (is there ever?) I guess I'm wondering about skin care regimine tips (is there a better idea than a moisturizer?) or ways to work around it w/ the posture or exercises I choose.

My instincts tell me the best bet is to cut weight but at the same time it's hard to do leg-based cardio so is diet alone the best answer here, or focusing on upper body stuff until my glutes shrink?

Not trying to be lewd here, I'm talking inches north of the actual hole, it's just a persistant fat-boy problem that I really don't know who to ask advice from. Hard to bring this type of thing up with a doctor for getting a dermatologist consult, very self-cosncious.

Have had similar issues w/ the inner hip joint, the combination of body fat and maybe because I train ad-ductor muscles a lot w/ horse stance. Sometimes get a rash and soreness there so I usually put some moisturizer in the crease and hope for the best.

I don't know if different kinds of lubricants or ointments might be better for helping the skin to heal and become less painful and to prevent recurrance of future damage until I can cut weight.

Sensitive skin/fragrance free: soap, moisturizer, laundry detergent, fabric softener.

    Vaseline.

    Good hygiene.

I think I will look into vaseline.

I tried putting some moisturizing soaps there but most of them say you're supposed to rinse them off afterwards and I didn't do that until like an hour later which might be bad.

I assume you mean laundry detergent and fabric clothing on my clothes and not directly on my skin.

So I guess soap first to cleanse, then moisturize, then do some vaseline on top of things?

I've also become conscious of hair growing in the region but I'm not sure if i should pull it out because it itches or if it's okay because it reduces skin-on-skin friction.
