Question Straining of gluteus medius muscle due to heavy bicep curls and momentum

As per title. Now there's a deep sharp stinging pain in the back of the hip where the gluteus medius muscle attaches. It's not super serious but definitely uncomfortable. It shows up when I bend down/over, squat a little to pick up objects, or get up from my seat or seat down etc.

Has anyone encountered similar? What did you do?

I may not be able to use the same amount of weight for my standing bicep curls in the short term. Should I switch to slightly lesser weight + *seating* bicep curls?
