-John Johannes was the director of this game. He also directed Evil Within 1’s DLC and Evil Within 2.

-The lead game designer of Hi-Fi Rush is Masaaki Yamada, he worked on Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, Okami, Bayonetta, Vanquish and The Evil Within.

I guess it's ok. Just seems like a boring melee action game with rhythm stuff as a gimick (glorified QTE imo). At face value its pretty boring and I'm not in the camp of everyone else who's hyped about it. Just seemed like it was trying too hard with the dialogue and panache

Who couldve expected two 90 games in January? There are usually only a few or less a year. 2022 only had 3 that weren’t remakes, dlc, or a game with not many (less than 15) reviews.
And only 3 games in 2021 hit 90 plus, and one was a remaster with an add on smaller game (Mario 3D world/bowsers fury)

Only in the first part but its very well made. dont think I love the actual gameplay as much as reviews yet but overall its legit.

Does anybody not like this game?
Reminds me of a 90s Disney movie... with top tier graphics and insanely fluid gameplay.

Diverse characters fit into the world and aren't forced down your throat.

My only gripe with it as mentioned in other threads is... the lack of licensed music.

Still enjoying it about ~75% of the way through but I wish they would lower shop prices. Some minor upgrades cost more than I'm getting in a whole stage and I'm basically clearing the map.

Surprised at how cheap this game is even though I have it free through gamepass. Feels like a full retail game and would for sure be $60 if it was made by Nintendo lol.

But metacritic user reviews are useless, you can just make multiple accounts and you don’t even have to own the game to do a “review”. And if you read them many are complete nonsense. And settling? immortality had about that metacritic user reviews initially when I posted the review thread (a few months ago, not a few weeks), it didn’t start high and go down over time lol.

I usually don’t even post user review scores in my review threads, but I only did steam on this one because you at least need to have the game, and they have processes in place to prevent fake reviews and garbage. And speaking of that game that this thread isn’t even about, it’s at 84% positive all time on steam. With a sample size over 10x as large
