In the game you care because he rescues you while you're searching for him and they have a whole act together fighting zombies which was fantastic.

Honest question, when you're rewatching over the show will you keep watching this episode? I would honestly skip it, there's no replayability. It was just so long and romance filled with almost nothing happening.

He’s gay in the game and it’s a Hollywood production so of course they’re going to draw you in with an explosive first episode and then come to a screeching halt with 90 minute side-story origin tales.

I remember people here and elsewhere online bitching to no end about 'trannies' in the last of us 2. I finally got it on discount and there was no tranny. What we got was a muscular butch woman who also wasn't gay as she got railed by a dude at some point. If I remember correctly, her father was murdered so she tried everything she could to get revenge by lifting and training into adulthood to become physically capable and survive a post-apocalyptic world. Seems the non-lifters online were probably just intimidated and shook that a woman was more muscular than they were.

Have not watched that episode but thought the first 2 were pretty decent adaptions. Mind you, haven't played game 1 in 10 years. It was basically a time lapse of how bill and frank meet and their love. Basically bill left Joel anything he wanted because they did a double suicide since they got old and frank had cancer.

Ellie stole a gun Joel didn’t know about* that’s literally the only part that will come into play. They took his truck and Joel said he’d take Ellie with him to find his brother since he used to be a firefly and will prob know what to do with her. Ellie never meet them and just read the letter he left for Joel.

God, are people actually angry with this episode? I went into it thinking "get ready for some gay bombardment, misc said so" but it was just an episode that centred aroudn two characters from the game, fleshing out their back-story, and yeah they're gay. Didn't feel preachy or anything at all. The bit where they first hook up felt like it went on for a while, yes, but that's because they're trying to show how awkward it is for them, especially Bill. If you sped up that bit it's honestly not bad at all.

And we're on to Pittsburgh for the next episode. Good times a-coming.
