My daughter is deceased, it is my 2 1/2 year old son.
I watched a 16 minute video here, I don't know what other video people watch.:

Saw 2 kicks that I disagreed with. He resisted the entire time even when he had cuffs on; not sure what else the cops should have done except the 2 kicks.
In my video EMS (or officers rendering aid) arrive in 10 minutes from initial altercation and roughly 3 minutes after altercation ends, but maybe my video is spliced and I miss time somewhere.

In my video, the police discuss at the 13 minute mark why they pulled him over and were so upset. They tried to stop him and hit the lights, siren and he drove recklessly and almost hit their car. The way he's explaining it at the time, I believe the officer but I would have to see camera footage, which I am sure we will at trial.Last edited by metroins; 01-28-2023 at 02:40 PM.

I would like to see what predicated the stop, it's so weird -- they're acting like he just robbed a bank and he's acting like he'd done absolutely nothing.
One thing I saw I didn't like, but maybe it's out of ignorance, they've got him on his side handcuffed and he's being restrained and controlled by someone in the back. They keep screaming at him to roll over and I don't see how he could with the guy there holding him. He did not seem to be resisting their effort to move him, the guy was holding him and not trying to reposition him.
Dave, from your excerpt opinion, what do you make of that? Why am I wrong or what am I missing, if anything? All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

In my video at the 13 minute mark, they say he was driving reckless and swerving. They hit the lights and told him to stop, he tried to hit their car. Then at the light he stopped and put on his blinker so the cops got out and got him.
Whether this is true or not, I'm unsure but I tend to believe them because he ran from them, fought with them and never complied.
In my opinion the police did everything they could to handcuff him. In my opinion I think they should have shot him during the initial struggle because the cop said he tried to grab his gun. We all know how in an instant a perp can instantly turn and kill an officer.
I think the officers went above and beyond to stop a potentially dangerous criminal and the punches at the end are understandable because he would not comply even after tasing, pepper spray, threats and a bully stick being pulled out.
The kick, probably not ok but his dude fought 5 cops and they didn't look like weak cops.Last edited by metroins; 01-28-2023 at 04:40 PM.

This thing strikes me as really bizarre and raises all sorts of red flags for that police department. This was a special plainclothes unit assigned to a heavy crime ghetto. If anyone should have proper training, it's them. It is interesting they were all black. 50% of the department in general is black. All 5 had less than 5 years experience. I wonder what complaints and misconduct problems if any are in their records. You have to wonder if this goon squad was unleashed on a crime ridden area with improper recruiting, screening, training, etc out of incompetence or whether it was somewhat on purpose. Black, plainclothes, in the wild west of the ghetto. They act like they have an implied license to **** up and kill people without consequences. Apparently they felt comfortable beating this restrained guy to death as a group, and bragging about it to each other afterwards, all while knowingly wearing body cameras. Something is extremely ****ed up about this situation, beyond the usual American BS tensions with police.

I watched a couple of minutes of the videos. The original stop it looks like an officer had control of each arm and then a 3rd came up and pepper sprayed because he was still resisting putting his hands behind his back. The officers then seemed to let go of his hands after the pepper spray. That was stupid in my opinion. I could be wrong though. Just watched it once.
On the second video it was worse. Kicks to the head etc. At some point you have to attempt to restrain the hands and put handcuffs on the man that is resisting. I just didn't see that. There was not a real attempt to put cuffs on. Not even one cuff was put on during the struggle from what I saw. You can't just beat the man for that long because he is not cuffed. That's not policy. You can throw strikes (not head kicks) etc but you do have to make an attempt to restrain him. What are you on about mate?

Am I the only one that thought he was resisting arrest?
If you listen to the audio, he refused to put his hands behind his back and comply multiple times. I’m not sure why this is so hard to understand. Just do what you are told and the entire process will be over shortly.
No, he didn’t have to be beaten. The officers should have been better trained. You don’t have to subdue a suspect by beating and kicking him. The thought remains though that you simply comply and you take that out of the equation.

Ends up Tyre Nichols worked at FedEx, was sleeping with one of the cop’s ex wives, and at the same time sleeping with that same cops current girlfriend who worked at FedEx as well. Don’t condone this type of reaction in an ideal world, but the guy was absolutely asking to be murdered. DO NOT **** around with other men’s women, especially twice.
