Hey Major T, are you 100% sure on this?
Google says otherwise..
65
The standard age to start the pension is 65. However, you can start receiving it as early as age 60 or as late as age 70. If you start receiving your pension earlier, the monthly amount you'll receive will be smaller. If you decide to start later, you'll receive a larger monthly amountAir Force Veteran 1976 - 1999 - Cannabis Enthusiast since the 1960's

Conservatives raised the age, but Liberals lowered it back to 65 when they got into power in 2015
It wasn't and isn't about people wanting to work, it's about austerity and saving tax dollars ... and ensuring the pension plan is solvent
In Canada there is a ceiling on collected Employment Insurance deducted on paychecks, and every penny collected over that ceiling amount goes into the general coffers. Liberals wish to do the same with pension moneyI don't necessarily agree with everything I say.

Pockets... he said “if people won’t work more, maybe this give them incentive to do that”. This is what I hear. I am still struggling with my English, but “incentive” means something along the lines of nudging the unwilling into doing something you want them to do. Also, “want” and “won’t” sound remarkably same to me.

Howdy Weiss. I can totally understand how you got that from the video, I think his accent may have led you to believe that, but I don't believe he said it as you described. Here is another clip that may be a little clearer and it has captions as well.

Here you go again... Look up Tom this happens to be the Misc section of the OV35 where a myriad of topics are discussed. Nothing stopping you from starting threads about training but it seems that you'd rather bitch about others not starting them.
Edit: I just saw that you started one, Good job. Keep it up.Air Force Veteran 1976 - 1999 - Cannabis Enthusiast since the 1960's

This is just more the result of being gubmit dependent.
Here’s some real incentive: we have the power to decide if we want to retire or not. We are not forced to work a minimal paying job for 50+ years, that’s by choice.
Many young people can retire now, if that’s what they really wanted to do.Authentic Knights Swing Heavy Steel and Have Hands and Wrists of Steel!

The only two issues are
not being able to collect government pension money until x number of years past 65 but you need it now
Income tax implications if you work and collect pension(s).
I don’t think govt is making anyone retire, just saving money by extending the eligibility age
I was going to defer pension but decided to start collecting it. I get my govt pension plus Old Age security ( no choice it’s automatic at 65) and I’m working. I am just under the ceiling where they claw back old age security. I also have to consider any income investment I must claim. Hoping to keep it up until 70I don't necessarily agree with everything I say.

You can delay OAS, but that does not mean that you should, it depends on your specific situation, YMMV.
By delaying OAS by five years to the age of 70, you can boost final payments by 36%, or 0.6% more for each month you delay after 65.
Unless the rule changed recently. Please record my time/reps if I pass out
