Democratic leaders in major cities nationwide have already moved forward with bans on natural gas stoves even as the Biden administration has pumped the brakes on similar regulations at the federal level.
Cities including Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and New York City — which are collectively home to more than 10 million Americans — have enacted varying restrictions on natural gas hookups impacting gas-powered furnaces, ovens and stoves.
Leaders of the Democrat-led cities have argued that transitioning away from natural gas would help achieve climate and net-zero ambitions.
"New York City is proof that it’s possible to end the era of fossil fuels, invest in a sustainable future, protect public health and create good-paying jobs in the process," former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said in December 2021. "If the largest city in America can take this critical step to ban gas use, any city can do the same."

Happy for them. I almost wonder if conservatives are pretending to be libs in these cities and seeing how far they can go before other libs say hold the fuggin phone. I bet they’re single-handedly creating a new wave of conservatives in the process who are starting to see the libs are indeed batchit crazy.
Trump 2024, 2028, and 2032.

Democrats always make laws that fuk over poor people. Like this gas stove ban. Electric stoves are inferior, and can't be used for emergency heat like a gas stove. Induction is very expensive and not within poor people's budgets.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

Lol theres a new nieghbourhood built near me where they have no gas hook ups.
Recently had a HVAC company in and the guy said he gets calls every week from that nieghbourhood of someone wanting to switch their electric water heater to gas, then he tells them theres no gas line in the street.
Its sad these people got tricked into "being green" and its destroying their pocket book monthly.

Straight up retarded for several reasons:
1. Renewables will never ever ever become a majority of our electricity (unless we rely heavily on geothermal, which doesn't generate lots of money for GE and other huge corporations). And they shouldn't. Grid level turbines which are most renewable energy now, in their life cycle from mining the rare metals to manufacturing to building to maintenance cause more carbon emissions than equivalent natural gas energy (it's almost all frontloaded with turbines). Especially offshore turbines. For very intermittent energy. If/when they freeze you have to get in a helicopter and use a flamethrower to defrost them. They cause almost no emissions as they run but getting them built and maintaining them overrides the savings as they run. Just like corn ethanol's entire life cycle causes more emissions than 100% gasoline. It's really all about making corporations and the politically connected richer. Solar does have more potential than wind, but there are definite issues there too.
2. Renewable energy growth has likely already seen its fastest growth in actual energy used by consumers. A third of renewable energy is hydropower, which we've had tons of since well before any climate hysteria was around. When renewables are mentioned it's never mentioned how until very recently hydropower was the majority of renewables. Wind and solar will still grow, but will flatten out as a share of electricity generation since they cannot provide baseload power.
3. Politicians refuse to allow for more nuclear because they learned lies about it, and spread the lies they were told. Take a look at what the actual waste is stored in. It's not simple barrels, as portrayed in media. It's stored in specialized casks that a semi going 80 mph can't put a dent in. And 97% of nuclear waste can be "recycled," which the US doesn't do because the politics became so anti-nuclear a few decades ago. France gets to laugh at us (and Germany).
4. In trying to force less natural gas usage we're going to become more dependent on coal. So less natural gas means more emissions. We are ALREADY starting to use more coal. After declining for years we used more coal in 2021 and 2022. Why? Nuclear (baseload) is declining, natural gas usage (baseload) is relatively flattening, even though the US is the #1 natural gas producer in the world. Lots of NG is used for industrial purposes and to make......fertilizer. Forcing it down at the household level will only do so much.
4a. This is related to Russia, #2 NG producer in the world. Sanctions on Russia means the US gets to export Billions of dollars more NG than before to the world. Follow the money.
Cliffs:
-renewables aren't so clean as we're told and have a ceiling of limited potential
-the anti-nuclear crowd are propagandists
-trying to force less natural gas usage for electricity means more coal
-this is about making US energy companies richer
-the natural gas you don't get to use will instead be used by Pajeet, Chan, and Klaus
-you will eat ze bugsLight weight! Light weight baby!!!!

The latter point alone is something that none of these "environmental" measures ever consider - electrical costs are only rising, local governments are in the pockets of utility companies and politicians across the board refuse to hold them accountable for raising rates whenever they feel like (even if they get federal funding, they'll still act like they paid themselves), yet more and more things are now to be exclusively reliant upon those higher electrical costs.
Nothing is being done to supplement the electrical grids despite this, either, so it's a literally dark time ahead for a lot of people.
First place my mind went to because these myopic fools are burdening their already tenuous electrical capacity faster than they are creating any alternatives.
Forget their idiotic refusal to open up to nuclear energy, they don't have any renewables in place, and by the sound of how they're spending money on everything but infrastructure, they'll be rolling in blackouts once all of the chickens come home to roost. Or they'll have to revert back to fossil fuels and act like that was the plan all along.I will stand firm, I refuse to kneel - The fury in me is divine
My dark grave awaits, my fate is revealed - But I'm not afraid to die

When I lived in California the libs implemented a ban on the sale of "high flow" shower heads, saying they used water inefficiently. Not only could they not be sold in the state, but when you tried to buy them on Amazon or something they wouldn't even ship to the state.
In the end, people ended up just using cheap mail forwarding services or shipping them to relatives who then shipped to them in CA. There was also a black market for them and you could buy nice shower heads at swap meets and stuff lol
And no, this ban did not solve the water crisis in California (go figure)

Libs are just being used. They are brainwashed into think they are saving the planet by banning things that are irrelevant.
Those that are controlling libs have a more nefarious plan. They are moving to consolidate everything to electricity. Once everything is under one umbrella, all the eggs in one basket so to speak, it can be controlled thereby society can be controlled.

i believe so. I cant find the article but here in NY there was a restauranteur complaining about how the ban would destroy the business.
Edit: https://www.foxnews.com/media/restau...y-our-industry found it.

The far majority of natural gas is used for industrial purposes and electricity. And most of the electricity is for businesses, not homes. But oh yes, ban natural gas stoves in homes. U wat m8? That's like doing 10 pushups a week in an attempt to lose weight. What else can you expect from the people banning plastic straws based on an elementary school kid's research (ded srs) and plastic bags in the US, while something like 90% of plastic waste in the oceans comes from the developing world?

Natural gas is practically mandatory for full fledged restaurants. A lot of meals will take longer to cook, not to mention there's a lot of slamming pots and pans in a busy restaurant shift. And NG is less expensive for the restaurant. So a longer wait for a slightly more expensive meal. As someone who cooks every day at home I don't like my glass induction stove compared to natural gas stoves. To a chef multiply that disdain by A LOT. The same busybody kunts are decommissioning nuclear power while simultaneously trying to force everyone into EVs. That means MORE natural gas and COAL burned by power companies since renewables have limited potential.
The party of 2+2=5 and pro-slavery in China and Congo strikes again. As I mentioned in a post above, the natural gas not used domestically for cooking will be exported to Chan, Pajeet, and Klaus. India alone will be tripling the amount of natural gas it uses between now and 2030. But your NG stove is the problem.Last edited by frankdtank20; 01-21-2023 at 10:38 AM.

On a related note.....
This is reminiscent of corn ethanol added to gasoline, which is worse for the environment, not to mention cars themselves.
https://www.reuters.com/business/env...ds-2022-02-14/
"The research, which was funded in part by the National Wildlife Federation and U.S. Department of Energy, found that ethanol is likely at least 24% more carbon-intensive than gasoline due to emissions resulting from land use changes to grow corn, along with processing and combustion."
Thanks, Obama.
And again, your natural gas will simply be exported internationally where it fetches a higher price than in the US. So Dems pushing this chastise fossil fuel companies out of one side of their mouth while forcing more profits into their coffers, and causing your monthly bills to go up a little. Policies of piss. I guess we're making Pajeet happy and that's what matters, right?Light weight! Light weight baby!!!!
