Not really-they got more over when they won the belts, but most of it was Heenan. Fans were really into the Rockers matches-but they had no entrance music, didn't get much promo time-which made no sense with Arn & Heenan being two of the best promos ever & Tully being good & they had plain trunks.

The Brain Busters? Unfortunately not. If you were a fan of them in NWA/WCW, you could appreciate them. I get the feeling the mainstream WWF audience did not, and they really didn't have a gimmick in a WWF gimmick era. Name recognition and wrestling skills alone weren't enough to get over.

They were like generic heel tag team. Heels in general were never over back in those days.
They were considered one of the better tag teams. They ended Demolition's reign.
They had an awesome finisher.

they were not over - in fact they were resented by the children audience they were presented to. They were boring; plain everything, no real story behind why bobby heenan suddenly 'loved them' and why the got the titles. and just as fast as they came in it seemed like they were gone just as fast.

They weren't resented-they had the same problem Hennig had when he came in-just an average sized guy in trunks & no entrance music wrestling, in a company where the fans were conditioned to circus characters who mostly punched & kicked. Fast forward to WM5 & suddenly he has put on a couple of stone in muscle thanks to Dr Zahorian & is wearing fluorescent outfits, then not long after he gets cool entrance music & he is over huge.
