It depends how much gas JBJ has in the tank, which is hard to say because we've never seen him for so long.
On paper, he is all kinds of wrong for Gane. Gane's career so far has been merking slow-ass HWs who can't move with him. JBJ has LHW speed to keep up, and a ground game that Gane totally lacks.
But in his mid 30s, no fights in 3 years, literal dozens of fights of damage on his body, first time at HW... we'll see what Jones has still got.FA Crew

If Jones can impose his wrestling will on Gane, this is arguably a very bad/kryptonite matchup for Gane. Plus Gane is fighting probably the quickest and "range-eist" opponent in his career so it might be difficult to get in on Jones and impose his striking
However, if Jones doesn't use his wrestling, I could definitely see a world where Gane wins by a decision or even by knockout. Not to mention Jones has never fought at HW and hasn't fought in 3 years.
Overall I say Jones.positivity brah crew

Don't know Jon Jones had a large amount of time out PRIOR to these last 3 years.. due to failing PED tests
And when he came back then.. he didn't look great and in some peoples eyes even lost 2 fights
Prime Jones wins easily imo.. This one IDK.. same **** happened to Mcregor.. you can't be having years off from the sport and still be the best (both were also doing drugs and getting in trouble with the law on top of that lol)

Jon takes this no question.
- His grappling is much superior to Gane’s, who easily got outgrappled by Francis (who is a poor grappler on two bum knees),
- Jon has fought many great strikers at LHW, so the high level striking and movement will not be foreign to him. Jon also has a very solid chin, and doesn’t get hit clean often,
- I am somewhat puzzled at how folks aren’t talking more about Jon’s athleticism / length / speed, and how there has never been a HW with those attributes and his insane skill set. He is also just 35 years old. That is not old for HW at all. He also has not taken major damage in his career,
- Most importantly, Jon has genius level fight IQ, and worlds more big fight experience. I like Gane, I really do, but he is not what I would call a smart fighter.
I am not a fan of Jon Jones the person, but his resume is simply unmatched. I see this fight just like I saw GSP’s return against Bisping. Too smart, too skilled, and too experienced.
