Yeah, I agree with this. It's not stopping me from enjoying the show.

I'm not overly shocked by the casting either, HBO has a big tendency to rehire actors for shows. They seem to keep it tight over there.

With regard to Joel’s badassery or lack thereof, I think it’s a necessary part of adapting the game. Joel is not John wick. Now a player may be goated and be able to do wild **** after dying 100 times in the game so the Devs make it appropriately difficult and over the top. But that doesn’t work in a show attempting to ground itself. Joel is just a very competent guy who does what he can to survive.

For example people saying how is he gonna survive a shootout with 100 fireflies like in the end of the game. I’d assume it’ll be changed so he plugs a couple docs and runs off, etc

Edit: and to those saying Ellie actres did better in ep 4 I do agree. Hopefully more improvement to come

See which way the highway is pointing, take the off ramp, follow whichever street is heading the same way as the main highway, rejoin highway. Yet they somehow get lost in the city.
Fat Karen sucks too. If they insist on a female leader they needed someone similar to Aliens era Weaver to play the role. Not Karen 'I have tupperware full of low carb cookies for everyone' Piggy.
Other than that, pretty good ep. I'd have slept in the truck though not in the woods. I'm sure wildlife still exists.

I admit I grew a morbid curiosity for this show after the sheer paid advertising campaigns hit me on social media. Been watching clips here and there, and every single one I've watched is such pretentious dogchit. But then the comments are FILLED with people over-hyping it.

Walking Dead (and TLOU game itself) did all this same sh!t 10 years ago, did it way better, and didn't have a very counterfeit feeling hype machine of people deep-throating the show.

I notice the same sort of chit from mediocre Marvel nonsense. I saw a clip of Antman and Kang or whatever the fuk today, and the comments were so overstating the impact the scene had on them.

Yes it isn't pulling off the same magic in a bottle that S1 walking dead did, but it's pretty good. At least if you ignore the woke fhag chit. The ambush scene was pretty good and the cliffhanger ending was good.

I stopped watching after episode 2, just not gonna have ghey stuff in my house, wish every new piece of entertainment did not have this woke agenda, but people still watch it, so they will keep putting it in. Maybe it will be enough when 2 dudes start blowing each other, but I'm sure that won't even make people stop and think what they are allowing in their homes. Pretty sad, and fuked up.

The voice acting in the game is pretty god damn phenomenal. The gameplay loop gets a bit repetitive, but I mean watching clips in here reminds me how solid the characters were, TBH. If you go in fresh it's a damn good game. Replaying it too soon and it gets boring quick cuz none of the twists have impact.

Yea, everything about it looks hella good..
The only thing I worried about with this game and so many others are doing, is the prompt to hit a certain button, and the character going throw a gamut of action sequences on their own, and then the game prompting you to hit another button..and then another series of automated action sequences..it just ruins emersion IMO..but doesn't look like there is too much of that in it, and just from that clip it feels more immersive than the 2 episodes I had seen.

Unfortunately I have an Xbox, so will need to make the leap to PS, but there are so many good titles PS puts out, I just may have to soon
