Finally some clicker action. Good second episode. It should satisfy those people that said episode one was too dragged out and slow.
Although the Indonesia part wasn't necessary. I wonder if they will do a flash back / virus explainer at the beginning of each episode.
I'm so disappointed they didn't put in the roaming Giraffe herd in that "view" scene.Last edited by obmas; 01-22-2023 at 08:24 PM.

Off to a great start, really enjoying it so far
HBO is top tierTsar Ivan IV Grozny:
“And if you, having a dog's mouth, want to bark for fun—that's your custom as a serf: it is an honor to you, but it is disgrace for us to think of you, let alone to snarl back at you, and there is naught worse in this world than to bark along with you, and if you want to bark, find yourself a serf like you, and bark with him."

I dunno, never played the game and story seems kinda chit so far. Same as all the dumb zombie shows. You could make armor out of a trash can that would make you immune to human teeth, and carry a fire axe or chainsaw to make short work of a plant based zombie....but they never do. It's just such a dumb concept that these things would wreck society. We've culled much more dangerous predators. Don't care how good acting is.

Good second episode. I haven't played this far into the game so it's all just tv show from here for me.
My only criticism was Tess death was a little corny, idk why she didn't grab a fukkin frag grenade instead of fiddling with the lighter and having a makout session with the infected. Didn't stop it from hitting me in the feels tho. My gf was nearly sobbing when Joel's daughter died in the first episode, even I got a little watery fukk.
I disagree, I like the flashback scenes. I think the Indonesia scene really set the tone for the episode/the series. It shows that her first reaction was no one will be saved, destroy everything to stop it. The dread of knowing there is not going to be a cure or reasonable way to stop it other then bombing everything.
I am a big post apocalypse fiction reader, I always enjoy when they do flashbacks to show how society and the people in charge handle these things. I think it helps understand how we got to where we are, esp for tlou where the gap is 20 years after the event.Yes... come and let us make an end of it. It matters not, even cornered, to my last breath... I remain who and what I am. I will not hide, nor tremble, nor beg. Let them come and reckon with fury that is DOOM defiant.

Weird, for some reason I remember that Giraffe part being much earlier.
They even used some of the same lines from the game's Giraffe scene.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pMjdl_uYXgE&t=8s
Joel: "Is it everything you were hoping for?"
Ellie: “It’s got its ups and downs… but you can’t deny the view."
In the show, Ellie says "the jury is still out, but man, you cant deny the view". Weird that they used this scene so early. Unless they are going to repeat the lines again and do the giraffes later.--------------------- ϞϞ( ๑⚈ ․̫ ⚈๑). ---------------------

This show is so fukking good, I loved the game (1st one at least), it's almost, maybe even better than the game, honestly 1st and 2nd episodes easy 10/10s
I wish Joel had a more southern accent like he does in the game though, it's pretty much my main gripe, but maybe Pedro Pascal cant do a good deep texan accent or fuk knows

Second episode was pretty tight.
I absolutely loved the intro scenes in Indonesia, the build up, suspense and just the people talking of what's to come. Amazing stuff .... makes me wish that that they do a whole season of how civilization fell like I mentioned in an earlier page.
Also really digging the changes to how the cordyceps functions, with them being a fkked up spiderweb of sorts, really appreciate the different take on it so feels fresh from the game. That whole scene with them moving around in unision was creepy as fuk
The clickers were a highlight. Hopefully we get to see more and more lol, actually liking how they translated their design to live-action without making them looking overly fake or cringe.
The only part I didnt like was Tess's death and her going out in your stereotypical literal blaze of glory, the games death was far haunting and felt more grounded.
This show is gonna be absolutely massive as the weeks go by and word of mouth gets around .... Season 2 and the stuff that the game did in chapter 2 will be such a doozy lmao, cant wait see those reactions lool.Sig line can't be a novel
