Had a rough day at the meet Sunday. Squatted 450 and 500 pretty easily. Took 535 for my third (would’ve tied my all time best gym lift) and something popped in my knee at the bottom. Opened with 375 on bench and then missed 405 twice. Couldn’t get any leg drive or set my legs correctly because my knee hurt too much. Pulled 645, basically a stiff leg deadlift. Missed 685 and didn’t take a third. Time to cut and go into a 3 month offseason.

around 10 days ago I hit 305x3 paused, 310x3 paused, and then 315x3 paused, and all sets moved with ease.
Came into the gym yesterday (with confidence) hoping to hit 315 for 3 sets of 3 and couldn't even get one set lmao.
I dont know whether its because Ive been very inconsistent with training +diet recently or because my CNS is fried or something but man I experienced a huge strength drop recently. I'll be back though
Once I get back into the groove of things and get strength back I'll start posting more. Next vid I'll post wil be 100lb DB paused shoulder press for reps
you got 225

just some light-ish paused squats (1-2 seconds). 235 for 8 reps. nursing a glute/hip injury so i'm taking this slow. still trying to get a good training stimulus going but with lighter weights. focusing on good control and not really pushing it close to failure. would love to push this all the way up to 315, that's the goal. increasing the weight 10 lbs each week but i'll likely hit a wall around 255-265 lbs. I could definitely do maybe 285 for 8 if I truly went balls to the wall but that isn't my objective.
i want to compete again but not sure my hip will handle it, we'll see. if I could, by end year I would aim for in the ball park of 425/275/500 at 83kg. but im perfectly content with progressing with lighter variations of squats/deadlifts as long as it keeps me injury free. it'll get me strong on actual squats and deads regardless.
