Nice Deadlift! I know looks can be very deceiving, but that looks like about a 5-6 RPE to me.

Hope you feel better soon Savior.

    March 7, 2023
    Bench Press
    145 pounds - 4 sets x 4 reps

    SSB Box Squat
    205 pounds - 8 sets x 2 reps

Energy level was a bit better today. Both lifts felt much heavier than they should have - especially the squats.

Testing negative and feeling good now. I think I lost a little weight in the mean while, my shirts feel looser which isn’t a good feeling

Not a real workout, just gauging where I am now. Lifting weights boosts my appetite too. Maybe I can get back to where I was before getting sick and then continue texas method

    Bench:
    Up to 255x1, then 225x5

    Deadlift:
365x1, my body felt like it could do a lot more but not my grip

    Shrugs:
    Up to 315x10

    Pull-ups: 3

    @Ego
No idea how to rate RPE. But looked like maybe a first rep in a set of 5? How difficult the first rep looks to how many reps you can do can vary so much from person to person so idk

    Bench Press
    115 pounds - 5 sets x 6 reps / 1 set x 16 reps

    Conv Deadlift
    325 pounds - 6 sets x 2 reps

Bench was great today, feeling strong and fresh. AMRAP on the final set was around a 7-8 RPE.
Deads moved like a warmup weight. Muscles felt strong throughout but energy level crashed after about 4 sets.
I'll probably take 1 or 2 rest days now.

Here's my bench from another angle - I took this video a couple of weeks ago. 6 x 132lb, I think this was the last set which I rated as 0 RIR. Bodyweight around 176lb.

    155 pounds - 6 sets x 3 reps

    SSB Low Box Squat
    155 pounds - 6 sets x 4 reps

I know - weird to squat the same weight that I bench, lol. Squats and deads are still wrecking me though. The weight was light but I still felt like I could vomit after getting done. Just trying to build up some kind of work capacity. I'll likely increase the squat weight next time.

For many years my squat and bench training weights were similar. Id say that it had much to do with my knee injuries and lengthy rehabs after surgery but it could also just be neglect in the early years. Now, after some pec strains, my legs are ahead.

I hear you. I know there are plenty of people that bench more than they squat. I'm just not used to benching and squatting the same weight in a workout, lol.

    135 pounds - 6 sets x 6 reps

Got through the workout without feeling nauseous, so that's a win. Both lifts went well. Deads especially felt very easy.

That’s good being able to rep 315 still. I feel like I wouldn’t even be able to get 315 off of the hooks now lol

Yeah Id swear my test was dropping when I was eating low fat. I was weak as hell and my training desire was diminished and I was afraid to lift heavy stuff. Switching to high protein, higher fat seems to restore natural test.

This week and the last I attacked some pretty heavy weights since Ive started Carb cycling 2/7 days a week. It does cause a water weight fluctuation but its worth it so far.

    Bench Press
    135 pounds x 11/8/6 - all sets @8 RPE

    Conv Deadlift
    325 pounds x 6 reps - @8
    275 pounds - 2 sets x 2 reps

Rest times were 2 minutes or less on everything. I'm going to mix in workouts like this somewhat regularly to help with building work capacity.

The weights I'm using are staying basically the same on each lift right now - alternating between a lighter day and a heavier day on each exercise. I have rep goals that will trigger me to increase weight. The goal for deads was 7 reps today and I could have made it but really don't want to go beyond 8 RPE on anything since my frequency is pretty high right now. Improving my work capacity should help and I fully expect I'll hit the goal on my next attempt, though that may be a few weeks off.

Increasing the weight on the bar is NOT my primary goal at this point. I'm really just trying to get in a lot of good clean reps in the 60-80% range. I feel like it's going very well. I feel fresh and can tell that my strength is gradually increasing.

    Sweet deadlift Coach!

    March 18, 2023
    Bench Press
    155 pounds - 7 sets x 3 reps

Skipped squats and then added an extra rest day because one of my knees hasn't been feeling right for about a week.

    March 20, 2023
    Bench Press
    135 pounds - 8 sets x 6 reps

    Conv Deadlift
    275 pounds - 5 sets x 4 reps

Was feeling pretty good today so I ended up skipping ahead and doing the sets x reps that were scheduled for the following session instead. I'd guess that the extra rest day helped.
I'm getting better at modifying my plan for the day according to how I'm feeling and performing at that moment. I feel like this should pay dividends in the long run.

There’s a few cardio workouts I didn’t log in here. Also got sick again a few days ago but I’m almost recovered now. I think it’s just a cold

I used to literally never get sick and this is my second time being sick in about 2 months

Hey guys, hope you've all been well. I ran out of paper money in Germany and the gym I was going to unfortunately did not accept any of my cards, so I basically stopped training altogether for the whole month of February and early into March. I'm back in America now and have eased back into it with some simple calisthenics like pullups, pushups, paused air squats and then some curls and lateral raises with my 35lb dumbbell I have. Needless to say I'm really detrained, but am also eager to get back into it.

Glad you are back and can start training again. Sometimes those breaks lead to a new appreciation for being able to train again.

    Any wild experiences in Germany?
