    Lower

    1.25” deficit deadlift
    ~top single @ 455

Getting used to pulling with straps, starting to catch up to my mixed grip.

    Lumberjack squats
    ~140x7, 6, 8

May have to switch these out with something, these piss off my injured tendon in my elbow something fierce.

    Seated leg curls
    105x12, 9, 10

Finally getting used to these older machines. No wonder the bodybuilders of yesteryear were stronger than the guys today.

    (KG)

    Barbell Incline Bench (T&G):
    1 x 5 at 100

    Barbell Flat Bench (T&G):
    1 x 1 at 120, 1 x 8, 6 at 100

    A.S.
    Supinated DB Curl:
    2 x 8 w/ 20s
    DB Lateral Raise:
    2 x 10 w/ 10s

Didn't have much time today so I kept it quite short. The benching felt quite a bit heavier, despite eating a bit more this week. Was going for 8s on the flat but could only manage that once. Oh well, just got to keep with it.

I do wonder whether that bench bar is 20KG/44lbs so I'll upload the photo soon.

EDIT: Here's the bar. The strange thing about it (aside from the fact that it feels heavier somehow and isn't marked with any numbers) which makes me wonder is that there are no symmetrical rings to reference for hand placement. Could legitimately be a normal Olympic bar but I've never encountered one without those until now. Also, the ends are quite long, as though they're designed to hold more plates than anyone but a world-class athlete would be using on a bench press. Again, could be normal, but it's different than I'm used to.

The link looks like it works but I don't know how to imbed it so that it shows up on its own. Thanks Camarija for the reference.

It very well may be a weightlifting bar or squat bar. Squats bars are usually 55 lbs.

BGainz - Had to look up Lumberjack Squats. Never knew they were called that. I had a similar issue when I did them previously - they were harder on my hands/wrists/arms than on my legs, lol.

Eli - Tried those image links 3 different times today. They're not working for me.

    Bench Press
    130 pounds x 8/8/8/8/6/6 [44 reps total]

    Sumo Deadlift
    395 pounds x 1 rep
    315 pounds - 8 sets x 4 reps [32 reps total]

    Pushup
    BW x 30/25

    Hammer Curl
    25 pounds - 2 sets x 10 reps

This was a bear of a workout. Took me almost 2 hours because I'm nowhere near acclimated to the volume. Everything felt good though - solid reps throughout. Most likely will take a couple days off to recover now.

Thing is... I don't actually have a personal twitter. I really, REALLY dislike social media and use it as little as is possible. The only 'social media' I actually have a personal profile on is LinkedIn for work reasons. I do have a Twitter for the Game Design/Level Design website I run that has a healthy following, but I don't post anything personal on it.

Your sons lifts look great! He'll get really strong if he ends up sticking with this.

Still working towards that elusive bodyweight bench press. Bodyweight is currently sitting around 175lb. Still easing back into things - I've finished up the PT and have regained full feeling in my fingertips, but my pressing strength is still well down.

    10 x 66lb
    5 x 88lb
    2 x 116lb
    6 x 116lb
    6 x 116lb
    6 x 116lb

Last set was about 2 RIR.

I notice the pad on that bench is really narrow, that may be making it harder than normal

My chest has been sore the past few days from a car accident, someone veered out of their lane and hit us head on. I probably need another day or two of rest

BG - I really wish I could do some jump training. I suppose in the summer time I can do some outside, but it's been below zero here lately (not to mention it's extremely icy outside, lol) and I can't do it inside because ceilings are too low.

coach - I find the same thing. I can live pretty much only on protein and have no impact to my energy or workouts. I've done if for months at a time in the past. I'd imagine there are differences in how a persons body processes different things that make this the case for some but not for others, but I know next to nothing about the science behind that.

The following two days were meant to be in 1 workout, but life happened and I did what I could. Didn't actually finish up the second workout until almost 11PM yesterday.

    Feb 3, 2023
    Bench Press
    180 pounds x 1 rep
    150 pounds - 6 sets x 4 reps

Top single was a 9+ RPE - more difficult than I wanted. Rep work went well though.

    Feb 4, 2023
    Yoke Bar Box Squat
    195 pounds - 5 sets x 3 reps

    Close Grip Cable Row
    100 pounds - 3 sets x 10 reps

Going away from straight bar squatting for the foreseeable future. My left elbow has been bothering me for months and isn't getting any better. I think there are a few contributing factors, but the stress from low bar squatting is almost certainly one of them. Also going to be limiting or removing a lot of rows since grip work seems to impact it as well (even when wearing straps). The rows I did here were relatively light, and had at least another 5-10 reps in the tank.

    Today:
    Squats
    295x5
    320x5
    345x5

    Bench:
    235x5

    Deadlift:
    375x5

    Cheat curl:
    155x4 or 5, can’t remember

Some bruising on my waist from the seat belt/car accident that hurt a little from wearing lifting a belt. And it hurt to sink the weight into my chest for bench because of the wreck too. But not too bad.

I weighed just a little over 190 at the doctor when I got my chest looked at, I was like 210-215 when I did the lifts in my sig
    Best lifts:
    Bench press: 315x4, 345x1
    Squat: 465x1
    Strict press: 185x8, 195x5, 215x1
Deadlift: 405x13 (conv tap'n'go with straps)

Savior - sucks about the car accident, but I'm glad you're recovering well. Seems like your training is going in a good direction.

    Cambered Bar Bench
    110 pounds - 5 sets x 8 reps

    Bicep Curl
    Orange Band - 3 sets x 10 reps

First time touching a cambered bench bar in a while. The extra stretch felt good. Seems weird though that this bar seems to fatigue my triceps more than my chest.

    Sick today

Didn’t train today. Been fighting a cold the last few days. Today the body aches and chills hit and I’m constantly tired.

I think the stress of recently buying a home did me in.

Might do incline smith press + trap bar squats + rows on Wednesday to make up for it

400 G protein today at 3000 cals. I dont track often anymore as Im eating as much as I want four times a day. Some of my lifts are going up, others down…legs /deadlifts are not good with this glute strain.

Anyways, good leg day today, tomorrow is shoulders and arms. I can’t wait.

Hope you all are enjoying the process. I just love to eat and train. I don’t see chasing PRs anymore while eating like this and getting older…but the passion is there.

    Sumo Deadlift
    350 pounds - 4 sets x 3 reps

    Overhead Press
    105 pounds x 1 rep
    85 pounds x 39 reps [7 minute density block]

I've not done a density block in quite a while. I really like them. Arms are still shaking as I type this, lol.
Haven't posted any video in a while, so I decided to record one of the deadlift sets today.

Was also supposed do squats but wasn't feeling up to it. I've felt progressively worse over the last 3 days and am not feeling up to doing much of anything. I'm sure I'll start feeling better over the coming days.
