Video games are used to keep people dumb and sedentary. Think about how many hours your average wagecel pumps into video games. If he dedicated that time to improving himself, learning a new skill etc. he'd become a top 1% in society.

It is true that the more I work on self improvement or simply stay productive, the less I play video games. In fact I won't even play video games most days I am trying to get chit done.

I once saw a millionaire say people are playing Forza or Need for Speed to enjoy driving supercars but I can just buy a supercar and take it on a road trip or to a track so why would I be playing this game when I can do it in real life? And majority of people use video games as escapism from their life. If they focused more on improving their life they wouldn't even want to play games all day.

Eh I mean I enjoy playing racing games so I can do things to cars that I wouldn't do to a car that I actually own, like racing them around and doing crazy chit. That and you can buy a massive collection of cars and get some stuff that would just be crazy expensive IRL. Same sort of reason why Flight Simulator can be so much fun. I mean yeah I can get an airplane, but it wouldn't be a military jet or upgraded racing plane.

Yeah the tech is great, they finally got some decent 60fps capability at 4k, heck the fps focus this gen in general is why so many games are looking so good lately. That said I just wish we had a better variety, too many safe games, sequels, and same feeling popular trends.
