42k a year was ok in 2010. Now 42k a year in 2022 is like 32k in 2010. Not nearly enough to put up with any job that has deadlines and stress for that compensation.

Good points, at lower salary you can find random jobs that have downtime, and side hustle on the down time, or just save energy. working hard for 30k is dumb unless you have opportunity to quickly move up.

I've worked from home since pre covid. Before I moved to the sticks, I lived in a gated community in West Palm. Neighbors to my right were 10 years younger than me. She did fukk all, and he has some YouTube and ebay hustle.

Its actually hilarious how this article frames it like Men just aren't what they used to be, they just don't care and it doesn't make sense. The reality is life and society is now what it used to be. You used to be able to work pretty much any old job and be able to support your stay at home wife and kids, buy a new house, a new car, all the food you need and have money to spend of entertainment and have money left over to sock away into investments that actually produced a return. The list of people and events that lead to this point is huge. There are alot of factors.
