Thoughts?
Apparently it is a very bad shoulder injury, will take longer than a year to recover. Probably will never be the same again.
Didn't want to miss an opportunity to fight for the belt but ended up ending his career.

Tough spot for this guy, no matter what the reasons people will still call him out for the drug pop. He said he retired because he cant compete "like a real man" but that was the whole point... he cheated for the same reasons. So no matter what his legacy is tainted. He put on some entertaining fights, but its hard to feel sorry for him at this point.
He also went into his last fight knowingly injured and fleeced the fans for PPV money when he knew he couldnt perform, so imo its a mentality thing where he just doesnt see the problem with how he handled his career. I respect the level he was at, but not sure I can respect the methods he used to get there. For every man, there is a sentence, a string of words, that has the power to destroy him

what I was thinking lol. he'd certainly have all the incentive, esp based on his recent history to pop creatine in order to recover from his injuries. But let's say Dillashaw comes back in 1.5 years. He'll be 38. IMO his career and any chance for competing for he belt is pretty much over. I don't think you just simply recover from all those injuries, take that much time off the fight game and be competitive. He's done.

He’s a great fighter but he always rubbed me the wrong way. But idk the man irl.
Him getting popped for using bike rides doesn’t bother me as much as his overall personality.
But I wish him the best.
I’m sure he sees the writing on the wall at his age. Those smaller guys need their speed and athleticism even more than the big guys into their older age. He probably understood it wouldn’t be a good comeback from the injury at his age.

He owned up to the PED's and the fact he got popped for it while cutting down to 125 (which was a dumb idea in hindsight) doesn't tarnish his legacy too much IMO.
I liked his fights with Garbrandt (who needed to be humbled at the time).
Taking the fight with Aljo with that severe of an injury was very disappointing though.
