Dead Space Remake gameplay reveal (18 minutes)

Never played the OG so I only watched the first couple minutes of this to compare to the OG. This is most definitely a total rebuild from the ground up, aka an actual remake. Fuark, maybe it won't disappoint?

Opie the first and second DS are stone cold landmarks in the genre. Obviously no point playing the first one now unless your to-play pile is empty, but unless this flops hard you’re in for an amazing ride.

Looks incredible but I probably won't buy because I only replayed the original a year ago so it's too fresh in my mind. Better graphics aside it looks no different in terms of layout, dialogue etc to the original.
Same reason I didn't get TLOU remake, I hate replaying single player games unless it's been so long I've forgotten what happens

Yeah man they knew exactly what they were doing with that timing. Lol, can't wait to play this one since I was so excited for Callisto.

Well the best part about waiting is you'll get it on sale eventually and it will be the best version available. From what I've heard though, there is a ton of additional content, interactions, discoveries and opened places to explore in the remake. Also just watching the beginning, they played out pretty differently and the main guy seems to be able to talk now. This remake is more like RE2 Remake where thery totally reimagined it compared to OG.

The 2009 version holds up so well graphically almost to the point it's pointless unless there are some seriously new levels and areas (yet to see any in the preview gameplay)

As a newcell who saw the first 5 mins of both games, the remake seems far superior to me.

The graphics do look cool, moreso from a design perspective; Isaac's suit looks killer now. I always thought the original had great graphics which were hard to beat, so overall it seems like a slight leap forward in visuals.

I guess I would need to replay the first 5 minutes of the original and compare, but the remake seems less immersive. They talk way too much imo. Isaac was better as a silent protagonist.
