It's because a lot of countries were buying extra for the winter and now have enough to last most of the winter if not all of it so demand has dropped. This price drop was anticipated, but it's also expected that prices will rise in the spring and summer next year when once again countries start buying up extra for next years winter.

Well gas prices are declining because Biden is draining our emergency oil storage facility and the economy is doing poorly. The worse the economy, here and abroad, the lower oil prices go typically.

I imagine though most people don't know that, or maybe even care about that. They will like seeing the lower gas prices.

I'm wondering now how these prices are tabulated. Around Thanksgiving a few of the big chain gas stations had flex fuel (the kind that gums up engines) on sale for $1.88/gallon. The data posted here might be believable if they are considering the average price of regular unleaded plus flex fuel.
