if youre not using raytracing then just run it in dx11 mode. you should be able to run it way higher than low mode on 3080

Anyone doing new game+?

I decided to do another play through in new game + mode. But from what I'm reading, this might not be a good idea unless they fixed it. Sounds like the enemies do not stay scaled to your level, but instead keep going up higher than yours making them ridiculously hard later on?

Edit: I think this might have been a bad idea. Like the enemies that are usually lower level don't seem like they scale correctly. The griffin at the start of the game was only 3 levels higher than me and it hit me for about 90% health in ONE shot lmao. This is normal difficulty too lol.
In normal mode, even with it 2-3 level higher, it would have to hit you 5 or 6 times to do that much damage.

I never really understood the appeal of NG+. Is it just so you have more skill points or whatnot?

I just wanted to do it since I already spent a completely retarded amount of time getting the full Grand Master Feline armor set, Aerondite, etc, so I thought it would be cool to play the whole game through with it…
But the enemy scaling is kind of fked so I’m not sure if I should just do a 100% from scratch play through now.
If it’s already this difficult, then by the end of the game I can’t see how some of the boss fights will even be close to beatable.

Yeah I spent a bunch of time doing everything, especially my precious cards but I'm doing a fresh playthrough brah. Main reason is to just experience the story again for the first time again as Geralt would actually be. Being decked out in White Orchard would break the immersion. Now I get the update for PC while an improvement isn't hugely substantial but remember for console plebs it is. It really does feel like a new game to me.

Do it from scratch ****ot. I want to experience the whole next gen upgrade. The world already feels so much clearer and smoother. This is how I dreamed it would look when I was on ps4. This version really makes me want to explore.

I was busy past couple evenings and the little time I got I spent it tweaking my new TV rather than playing games. Was fairly thorough I got it right so now I can just go back to games. Tomorrow I really begin my W3 playthrough as I'm only a few minutes past the tutorial.

This is the annoying thing. I want to do a from scratch game and re experience it all over. I don't want to re experience the insane amount of hours spent grinding everything needed for my Grandmaster armor set...

I wish they just did a better job making NG+ not suck ass. It's something that (I didn't realize until a couple days ago) people have apparently been complaining about for years now. The way the enemy scaling works, NG+ is basically impossible to beat even on lower difficulties because they're wayyyy too hard.

Know how I know you've never made any of the grandmaster sets? This post. Because **** yes - it takes a ridiculous amount of time to grind for the money and materials.

Ain't no way brah lol. I have easily 10-15 hours in just grinding for money and materials. It's expensive as fk to get all the way to grandmaster.

You got basic, enhanced, superior, mastercrafted, then grandmaster. All that times 2 swords, chest piece, pants, boots, gloves...AND it gets more and more expensive with each tier.

It all seems to revolve around cutscenes. Going into cutscenes can sometimes trigger a random crash. Or randomly going into a cutscene, frames will drop to 5-10 FPS. If I minimize the game window and go back, sometimes it will go back up to 60, sometimes it won't. It's getting pretty annoying at this point. Might have to shelf this until a patch comes out.

Turning RT off stopped the strange frame drops...go figure. The RT in this game is so fked lol.

I actually think the combat/talent trees in Cyberpunk are pretty good

But maybe CDprojektred can't do 3rd person combat that well

I've shelved it lol. Performance is just too borked and I swear there's some memory leak happening at times as well... The game plays well when I load it up, but the longer I do the worse the frames and stutters are. There was one time I minizmed the game to go back into windows and when I changed back to the game, the stutter was crazy, like my ram usage was overloaded or something lol.


If you want the best performance, go back to dx11 ... I was able to get everything running at ulra+ with minimal issues, but yeah you sacrifice RT and the whole point of this upgrade .... This upgrade was released fundamentally broken.

This motherfuker's head was literally an octagon. I could see pointy edges where they failed to smooth out his head.

Yes but I guess everyone just assumed CDPR went through and got them up to AAA studio quality.
Or maybe they did but the way RT was just slapped on top just isn’t working right…I dunno.
RT is always hardware taxing, but it’s not even this taxing in games that have WAY more reflections, etc like Cyberpunk.

I’ve played lots of RT games and none of them are this hardware intensive. And none of them cause random crashes, random frame drops to single digits. It’s obvious this issue is far more than an optimization issue.
Turning RT off immediately stopped me from crashing once an hour and stopped the single digit frame drops.

With RT off I can run on ultra with absolutely zero issues whatsoever. No crashing, no insane single digit frame drops.
That’s how you can tell the RT is just fundamentally broken. Usually RT gives an initial performance hit in the way of lower FPS, but that’s it. It doesn’t cause random crashes and insane frame drops.
