PC version looked better than my console quite alot but even on ps4 it was really beautiful.
As void says, the colors in the game just pop so nicely. I remember really marveling at the aesthetic Toussaint managed to capture. Fuark if console version could look nearly as cool as those pc shots I'd be good with that.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

I have yet to play an RPG that’s as good as The Witcher 3.
Only thing (IMO) that could come close or possibly be as good from an overall RPG standpoint for me would be the Mass Effect games.
I don’t think the love so many people have for this game comes from nostalgia.
It truly is just an amazingly written game with absolutely beautiful atmospheres and truly interesting characters.
IMO masterpieces like this don’t come around often and CDPR created something that will be hard to ever be topped for it’s genre.

Went straight to Witcher III due to the hype. It took me HOURS to get into the swing of it (potions, inventory, crafting buying/selling, repairing, monsters, map), but then became basically hooked for 100 hours or so. The Toussaint DLC is almost a game in itself size-wise.
May play again some day. Not anytime soon as only played last year I believe."Honor is something that all men are born with. It cannot be taken from you nor can it be granted. It must only not be lost."

Probably 50+ hours easy. This is the type of game you can't rush through because even the sidequests are damn good. And then you have several builds with several weapons and several types of armour. Not sure what build I'm gonna make next, my first build was a half ass bloatmaxx Geralt with defense stats.

My playthrough was around 200+ hrs huehue but that's because I take my time. I was still not even close to a total playthrough so there's a really strong chance I would spend just as much time in this playthrough which is a little disturbing since I have a bunch of fuking games to play.

The wacky thing is despite 200 hours I didn't have as much fun exploring in this as I did in Forbidden West since FW absolutely mogs when it comes to graphics and intrigue of the open world.
It this remaster if they make the graphics much nicer and smoother to play i could see myself exploring more.
Also jlmao @ bloat lord build. Breh, you didn't even pick a school armor? Try to go for one next time, it's a bunch of fun upgrading it to max power and aesthetics. I'm Feline school master race but if you're a true bloatlord then you gotta go for Bear school.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Holy chit if you didn't play Blood and Wine lmao. Pepper your angus boyo that expansion alone is bigger and better than most full games.
Yeah the bear armor definitely looks cool, I like to max out my stats though especially since it changes the look of the armor. Grandmaster bear def is maximum bloatking▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

I may give this game another go. The most fun I ever had playing was maxing most of the alchemy tree and utilizing all the bomb perks, plus the one that makes your bombs do double damage. I would just chug all of my favorite decoctions and potions looking like a mutant freak, cast Quen so I could tank a hit, spray the whole battle field with bombs, then eliminate all the survivors utilizing quick strikes with oiled blades - the auto apply oil PC mod was a game changer. The only sign I think I put points in was Quen.
With that build, the latter parts game did end up becoming a joke, even on Death march. I can't remember what DLC this was on, but it's the one where you have to invade all those enemy encampments and there is a **** ton of enemies in each one. One time I got completely surrounded by hordes of enemies at one of those encampments and started spamming frost bombs all over as a hail mary attempt. My bombs ended up hitting mostly everyone leaving an ice explosion, and those that didn't explode from the ice were frozen completely in place. It looked like the Wild Hunt just got done marching through that place.
Fuark, I want to play again now.

Haven't played Elden Ring yet but most certainly it's better in combat, engagement in character builds and movesets, unique enemies that look amazing, complete freedom to explore and tackle anything you want. The last part isn't necessarily superior but can be depending on what you're feeling for. And these are things I know for sure without even playing it yet.
Witcher 3 also has a ton of things Elden Ring doesn't.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Yeah elden ring for me was as good as a fantasy game gets. Limitless, totally open exploration. Sure there are gated off areas but there are lots of secret backdoors even to those.
Witcher has a lot of extra content besides the main game but I just didn't find stuff like gwent or gathering herbs for potions to be very interesting. A lot of the game is kind of a slog. And it definitely feels more scripted and limited.
Elden ring has a pretty cool mechanic with the twin maiden husks where after you beat certain bosses you don't have to go around collecting dumb chit anymore and can just buy what you need to craft the ammunition or potions or whatever. Plus there are scattered hidden merchants with different inventories, some of which have unlimited stocks of crafting materials. It still requires exploration to a certain extent, but doesn't force you to farm mats after a certain point.Motorcycle crew

I like the filler stuff in Witcher as it's just downtime in between the action missions and there's a ton of those. Variation in that regard was cool for me as I like to take my time and get immersed.
I like both styles of game though, as in those where you're given a checklist of things to do but also the Elden Ring style sounds really exciting too. I have had ER for months now and only booted it up to see how it looks. When it just threw me out into the open grassland without a direction I was like awfuk this gon be good. I turned it off immediately because I knew I have to put aside a couple months just for this one game so I needed to clear some things first. Plus that giant dude in the horse nearby looked terrifying and I wasn't ready to deal with that chit.
Now that W3 is coming I rather replay that before something new and more exciting like ER.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
