The problem with sales jobs is that so much is related to luck - when you're lucky and things are going well you feel like the master of the universe, like your job has some serious meaning... then when your own internal state of being diminishes for whatever reason and you start sending negative vibes out, things don't go your way anymore.

Although I nearly have a PA inked on what will be the biggest deal of my career, my pipeline otherwise is non-existent. Leaving to go traveling for 3 months tomorrow, and will likely do a total of 5 hours work during that entire trip.

I kinda enjoy it, although life is pretty fuking boring in the US now. But this trip is going to be amazing.

Isn't the point of sales to try to sell stuff? No meetings = no sales. We always had really busy times going on before December 15th to try to get things done before the holidays.

I always find the whole "sales hustle" culture hilarious.

99% of the time when someone buys something nowadays (especially B2B), they already did their research, know what they want, and barely even need a sales guy to pitch them.

I do not respond to emails about sales people

I do not answer their calls

IF I need their product (I already know I do, I do not need them to reach out to me to find my "pain points"), I will reach out to them.

the best sales guys just reach out and say "hey, we have free tickets to the knicks game in our suite (or free lunch at a michelin star place), want to join along" I go, they mention NOTHING about their product. Just kick it.

Then when my boss is like "hey we need buy/use "x" product", I just call the guy I liked that hooked me up with nice game tickets. I could care less if my company wastes money or is ripped off. that's the secret to B2B sales. Most of the products are the same between competitors anyways (very rare to find a true outlier deal). the person that the client likes more will get the deal.


TLDR:
-stop trying to find "pain points"
-just make sure the clients know who you are. they dont need you to keep spamming them the product and its capabilities/price
-when their company needs to buy the product, the stake holder that makes that decision 99% of the time doesnt care if it screws over the business, he just wants to hook up his buddy (Srs)

Yeah a $600 dollar dinner/drinks and $350 sports tickets are more effective than email for sure
