When we moved from NJ to DC we had the NASL with this guy named Pele.
I played for 10 years then got bored with the game, but it built strong legs with all of that sprinting.
Fast forward to our local team DC United and i have passively watched.
This World Cup is much slower, with less scoring, a little boring, and 90 minutes of play and only 1 or 2 goals.There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

Dana speaks for me. But, for different reasons. Soccer seems so foreign to me. Millions of screaming fans who appear to be in a cult-like trance and spend endless hours watching watching guys run around and you need a telescope to watch it.
Don't get me started.
I appreciate and respect that the players are in good shape, tho.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

I respect soccer, but like many here, we were raised in baseball and football sports environments. In the past couple of decades, soccer has gained a lot of traction in K-12 for boys and girls, but totally different than watching pro soccer on the TV.Originally Posted by Gabbar99

Soccer is so simplistic, anyone can play it. It's easy to learn, hard to master.
But pro soccer players are some of the most skilled athletes in the world.
