Not really even a fair comparison - remember that energy cannot be created, nor destroyed - these '4090 builds' are drawing 700-750 watts total out of the wall and converting it all to heat, since ones and zeros (i.e., the processed data) don't contain any energy.. maybe one watt or some crap? Then it goes to a monitor and gets converted to an image.

A photorealistic console that abides by energy regulations won't be out until the 2030s IMO - unless some serious bounds and leaps in GPU compute tech are made? Maybe upscaling tech would do it? So maybe even 2027ish

I dunno about that one - that would mean that each GPU would have to be twice to thrice as strong as the 4090, so it would render as good as the 4090, but with only 200ish watts of power drawn for the GPU (or 250-275ish total)... I guess that might be possible in 2027-2028?

I'm seeing the best GPU in 2014 when PS4 was out was the GTX 980.

6 years later the PS5 absolutely destroys that card.

PS6 probably isnt pulling off the rtx in OP's video.... But the character model and detail is already being achieved in games like TLOU2 and I'm sure Naughty Dog might end up surpassing it this gen lol .... The cloth material is also something I dont see happening at least until maaaaybe late ps6 or PS7. The dress physics is pretty insane. I dont see that happening this gen in real time, maybe in pre rendered cutscenes.

Okay so let's use the higher end of your range and say 850 give or take. That's 33% higher wattage than a 4090 roughly. So you're saying that the top card in 8 years will only have roughly 33% more performance than a 4090?

If yes then that doesn't line up with the yearly gains I've been seeing and I find it incredibly disappointing.

If no, then certainly I was right in assuming that performance will not scale linearly with power draw, and that in 8 years it may be very possible to have a PS6 pulling 450-500 Watts while performing better than a 4090.

Conclusion, I don't think your power draw argument holds as a limiting factor for PS6. I don't think performance will scale linearly with wattage as new technologies develop that are far more efficient than the hardware we have today.

The question was why can't PS6 perform like a 4090 in 2030. The only argument you retards brought up was the high 600 watts the 4090 needs today. My point was to show wattage won't be an issue because GPU's in 2030 will be able to match or surpass a 4090 while using less power due to efficiency gains.

You need to come up with another argument why the PS6 won't look like that. Power consumption argument is a failure.
