K we cool. Yeah I think the ps5 did okay. Hope the backwards compat thing is something to stay though I think they may go full retard for PS6 and not allow ps4 games to run on it but instead put it being the subscription. Imo this is the biggest disadvantage of console, not being able to play your old games unless you still have the old console (which could die at any time)

The issue is not the cross gen games, there've always been there as you said Coal
Thing is PS exclusives being cross gen, something that didn't happen last gen, I guess PCcels are used to it but we aren't getting the Sony exclusives close to their potential with the new hardware.
It's kinda fine cus Horizon and GOW look and play great, but there's always the "what if?"..

That's because ps4 didn't really have exclusives brother. In the first two years, mgftp named 2 ps4-only exclusives: Infamous and Order 1886. I'll add another, Killzone Shadow Fall. That's about it. Ps5 already has more PS5-only games after 2 years.
Also, Ragnarok was the last cross gen exclusive.
Final Fantasy Reunion will be ps5 only and that's out next month. Then we have Forspoken and a bunch of new games next year. So my point is it seems cross gen is being done with fairly early this gen.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Semiconductor cadences slowing down are also going to fuk both PCs and consoles over. It simply takes longer now to design a new chip than it did even 5 years ago.
As it's slated for now, TSMC N4 is just hitting mass production (Iphone Pro is N4), N3 will be in about 2024, and N2 will be in 2026. Each one of those represents a 10% type speedup. So it makes sense that they will only start work on consoles then, once the juice is worth the squeeze.FA Crew

One way to keep PS4 users engaged would be to make upcoming PS5 games playable on the older machine, just like Microsoft is proposing with its Xbox Series X games being playable on Xbox One. Yet Ryan says that's not something PlayStation is interested in doing.
"We have always said that we believe in generations. We believe that when you go to all the trouble of creating a next-gen console, that it should include features and benefits that the previous generation does not include. And that, in our view, people should make games that can make the most of those features.
or we believe in past generations? it doesn't scale if you have any knowledge of the jaguar cores inside the ps4 and xbox one, and i doubt you do. its holding ps5/xbox series x back innovation in current generation back.
thats actually why the new god of war ragnarok is the same looking game as the ps4 original god of war... simply because its a ps4 game released in late 2022.*** Free Thinker Crew ***

i'm a casual gamer.
i'll hop on cod, nhl, nba with the boys.. no need to spend thousands on a PC for that. not to mention, my PC buddies constantly get dev errors and other issues because their hardware needs to be updated.
i don't jerk off to FPS or pixels. i just play the game. ya'll pc incels need to relax and stop acting as if buying a console is an attack on you or gaming in general. it's getting ridiculous.
and for the record.. when i was in high school almost 2 decades ago, i was building PC's for gaming so i get the appeal. but i never shat on people if they wanted a consoleLast edited by bertishere; 11-28-2022 at 04:53 PM.

High tier gaming is improving, but the sub $200 tier was stagnant for 5.5 years.
Now that the 6600 can be had for $200 we can start talking about some progress, but PC gaming for the average player hasn't been improving. It is just the 30-40 year old enthusiasts that are seeing any upgrade.Finance Degree - USAF INTEL - IIFYM - Injured Crew - KTM XCW300 - Single Track Trail Rider - NRA Supporter - Shunned from MFC - Libertarian - Pragmatist

PCcels in shambles. Lol'd @ jerking off to pixels, it's so true. They're min-maxers who just want to tinker with hardware to get the coolest looking pixels possible and their hobby isn't totally playing great games but playing with their hardware as well.
And that's fine, but I always lol @ the nerds who act like they are the bastion of gaming and try to put down console chads who actually care about playing games.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

I am not sure that is fair.
Even 5 years ago $200 only got you to 1060 6gb/RX 580 level performance. Not low tier to be sure, but also not "high settings"
I would say balance is finally settling on the AMD side. The 6600 @ $200 is year over year performance of 10%. Not great, but I don't feel terrible when $200 buys me 50% more performance 5 years later.
Nvidia though... The 1660 super is still the best low end card they have. 3 years later @ original launch MSRP.Finance Degree - USAF INTEL - IIFYM - Injured Crew - KTM XCW300 - Single Track Trail Rider - NRA Supporter - Shunned from MFC - Libertarian - Pragmatist
