When I had a membership bout a year ago I watched two guys at the DB racks since I was waiting for one of them to finish..I kept noticing they were so into the music in their headphones they were getting kinda reckless..Jus so happens one was laying on the flat bench doing DB presses and the other was at the rack gitting DB's and he didn't look behind himself and sat on his workout partners u know wat wile he was pressing..It kinda spooked the guy sitting down and he jumped and dropped the DB in his right hand on the guys toe laying down..They were def. idiots IMO

ILS is hilarious. An older gentleman about 80 years old, former body builder, once pointed to a kid in the gym who was suffering from ILS, leaned over to me and said "Look at that kid carrying buckets". It took me a minute to realize but then I nearly passed out from laughing. Since then I've referred to ILS as "Carrying buckets".

11. If you buy a fat burner and don't change your diet or cardio at all, you are a gym idiot.
12. If you buy anything with "ano" or "test" expecting it to get "big" you are a gym idiot./\^/\^Misc Colorado Crew^/\^/\

I've got two old guys at my local gym who I see doing the same retarded thing every time I see them.
First old guy is always wearing a white t-shirt of some kind with some kind of logo, likely an old work shirt, tucked into his jeans. He sits on the tricep pushdown machine (complete with belt for the insane amount of weight he'll be pushing) and cranks out anywhere from 15-25 reps. He jots somethin down in his lil notepad, talks with other old people, then goes right back to it. He seriously does ~15-20 sets over the next hour or so with chat sessions between sets. I'm willing to bet he does about 8-9,000 reps per month on the seated tricep pushdown.
Other old guy sits in the decline hammer strength, puts maybe 2-3 plates on each side, and bounces the weight off the rubber block for quarter reps, bouncing it off the rubber each and every time, the plates are smacking together making that "omfg somebody's squatting 700 lbs!" sound, but then you see what's really going on and then you're all -_-
Then there's the loud talkative guy who's trying to make friends with literally everybody in the gym, literally. He's usually right about 30 years old and socially awkward borderline socially retarded, also typically short (5'7" or so) and hairy. In his mind he's just really outgoing, mildly funny, and all around nice. In everybody else's mind it's "oh phuck, not that guy again." The reason I'm describing in such detail is because there's one guy at both gyms I go to who fit this exact description.
PS: I do curls in the squat rack in between my girlfriend's sets of squats, teehee!

Arms > Legs?
If your arms are bigger than your legs, then you are a gym idiot!!!!
If you talk more than you lift, then you are a gym idiot!
If you put on more plates than you can lift while stretching for an hour without lifting, then you are simply an idiot!Last edited by gorgor03; 08-08-2012 at 05:00 PM.

Had one last night.... If you leave a 45 lb weight standing up in the middle of the floor on end, and you leave the gym, your a freakin idiot.
It may not work for you, doesn't mean it's broscience. Everyone's body is unique.

Got one massive ******* in my gym who does all this crap.
1. If you wear your hood up in the gym you're an idiot.
2. If you think your good because you can barely do two reps with the heaviest dumbells for dumbell rows then you're an idiot.
3. If you can curl 26kg's dumbells but only bench 22's your an idiot.

this asian kid I see atleast twice a week (I go at different times alot of days pending work schedule)
He is about 6' and 150lbs (about where I started at) but ALL he does is ab work. Situps, leg raises, bicycles, gets sidewide on the hyper extension machine and does oblique situps? Holds on weight in hand and does standing side crunches? He will also lift up his shirt every minute or so and try to flex his non-existent abs or feel up on his abs through his shirt.
So much lolz

1 squat rack at my gym anda power cage. I was finishing up squats and someone was in the powercage. Big ass dude with 135 on the bar i nthe cage and he is glancing over and i figure he is going to grab the squat rack when I'm done.
Thus enters the crossfit people.
Little girl and a trainer approach me and ask how many sets I have left
Me : Just one, but I think that guy was waiting on the squat rack.
Them :Oh, well we need it since this is the only good place to do pullups at (brb gym has 2 pullup bars as well as an assisted pullup machine
They proceed to ask the guy if he was gonna use it and he just said no go ahead. So I finish my sets and let them take it over, I go to refill my water and when I come back they are just like hanging from the bar wobbling with the trainer going "Yeah the motion starts like this, then you wanna swing your legs up as you blah bglah blah whatever."
Turns out they getting ready to do these

Gym idiots...
Correcting someone's form if you fear they are going to injure themselves is fine.
But don't wait until I'm finishing my fourth set of laterals in my superset to be like 'dude, curve the weights like you're pouring a glass'
I KNOW. I'm just freaking tired. And adding that some 'big freaking dude did it wrong too' doesn't make it better.
That said..
Do you guys gel your hair before working out? Won't that junk run into your eyes? This guy was Guido'd up. Hair up and waxy with what looked like eyeliner on.

We also have a ridiculously huge 19 year old that comes in. He's huge. Ridiculous-like.
Another sort of frat/guido mix with a pencil beard and upstanding waxed hair.
The guy has an ideal physique, but does everything wrong. He heaves all the weights, yanks on everything, and has no concentration. His widegrip pulldown doesn't max the stack, but he yanks and slams it. What little working out he does amounts to about 3x3 in about 45 minutes. He also wears flip flops sometimes. I'd say he spends more time tanning than the girls. Zero cardio, zero legs. Yet his legs look toned with veins the width of a pencil that line the entirety of his inner legs.
He's also the guy who yells a lot and drops every weight, no matter how heavy it is.
There's also this:
youtube. com/watch?v=qaMhxLYKhcw
There's a 25 year old volunteer firefighter at my gym who does that. His reasoning is 'it lets me pull more weight'
With what?

That's just like my friend at work. He's like 6' and easily weighs like 150 (no joke, a ****ing stick). So he wanted to gain some weight, so I thought I'd help him out. So It was my chest day, and we walk into the gym, and he picks up dumbbells and just starts curling them in between EVERY set he does, and whenever I'm talking to him. Afterwards I tell him to eat something with a lot of protein and a good amount of carbs. What does he eat? ****ING GOLDFISH. apparently 4g of protein and 20g of carbs is a good ratio. Then he bitches at me because he didn't get bigger. 1 workout isn't going to do anything./\^/\^Misc Colorado Crew^/\^/\

This may count as the gym idiot, or maybe I am in this case.
Asking a guy at the gym I talk to regularly about getting in better shape(break plateau) and being told I won't make any progress unless I add some kind of supplement 'stack'.
I never thought people at the gym would be so stimulant-reliant when I started at the beginning of the year. Is this normal? Or am I the gym idiot?
