If you super set the hammer strength chest press with curls supersetted with dumbbell rows (and you're rowing 10 pounds) you are officially a gym idiot.

There is a kid at my gym that warranted me to make a post here.
I would guess highschool age, maybe 15-16, 5'6 in height and a little thick. I admit, he is strong for his age, I saw him max 225 on the bench one day, but he had no idea what he is doing. His issue is his major ego. I saw him at the gym a few days ago, ear buds in, backwards had, addidas flip flops w/socks and basketball shorts. He looked like a friggen retard.
Anyways, he spent a good 30 minutes on the seated decline chest machine. He loads it up with way to much weight. He first started with 2x 45lb plates. Alright cool, he reps them a few times. He then sticks on two more plates so he is 3x 45lbs. He can barely do it, he does about 4 half reps. Okay, surely he is done now right? Nope, he goes and adds two more 45s on and he cant do it, he literally moved it about 2 inches once. He gets up acting like a real tough guy, puffed out chest and what not. And he proceeds to throw his arms up like he is rapping or something in the mirror. At that point I laughed. He sorta stood around a few minutes and then he ****ing put two 25's on top of his 4x 45lbs plates. He tries to move it for around 5 minutes, gives up and leaves without removing any of the weight.
I couldn't believe it.

The Tapout crowd at my gym is warranted enough to be called gym idiots. If you want to shadowbox and be a tapout toughguy go to a mma or boxing gym.

Someone needs to go through this thread and make a master list for me to print out and tape all over my gym. The hero:idiot ratio is seriously like 1:25.
I'd do it, but I'm too busy nodding ferociously in agreement.

what about people who grab all 5 kilo weights for their barbell instead of using heavier (10? 20?)

I'm new but I already hate:
1. the deflating tire (tssssssssssssssssss)
2. women dressed up all sexy with makeup on
3. groups of dudes that work out together and hog a bunch of space, mostly just talking as one guy does a set
4. the really 'tough' guy that curls heavy but rocks his back all over the place
5. all the tiny dudes that come in and do curls all day long

Seriously, to those who slam weights on the ground, make sure its a repectable weight.
Just saw a white rasta mon curl 35lbs BARBELL and then slams it on the ground like a BOSS!!!

There's one guy in the gym I work out at who screams: "SH*T!!!" at the top of his lungs after every set.

When I used to workout at a public gym, the only guy that really gets on my nerves is a guy with a sleeveless hoodie, hood up, and shadow boxes while watching himself in the mirror.
He will purposefully use a machine that is next to a girl, then regularly glance at her without saying anything in the hope that she talks first.
He also brings a buddy sometimes that will do a full hour of machine curls and/or tricep extension.

this was a new one i saw in college two years ago. everyday for a half hour, the wrestling team would take over the small weight room. they would kick people off machines, lift with light weights and the worst form imaginable, and then not clean up anything. one day i was narrow grip barbell benching when they came in, and only had two more sets so i decided to finish up instead of leaving. i let one of the guys who i know work in on my bench. their coach tells them not to use weight collars because he wants them to "balance the weight themselves." well, while the guy was using my bench, another idiot wrestler wasnt paying attention and walked into the end of barbell. this caused the guy on the bench to twist to the right, and the weights (25, 10, 5 plate) fall off onto foot of one wrestler. of course, this makes the barbell shoot up and the weights come off the other side and hit another wrestler in the foot. the quick change in weight made the guy lifting kind of torque off the seat and faceplant into the ground. i couldnt stop laughing, it was the perfect storm of gym idiots.

Seen a guy on the seated cable row machine; however, he was not on the seat... he was sitting on a 25 pound dumbbell (perpendicular to the floor) and doing rows.
