That's a debatable argument, although I lean towards it being a good financial decision back in the day. Not crazy about the power Disney had to govern their little ex-swamp, but that's not the current issue either.

The problem is this cozy relationship being upended when Disney weighs in one-sidedly on political issues. They made a stink about the disingenuously termed, "don't say gay!" bill Florida passed, so they picked a fight. One they ultimately lost. A very good example of F-around and Find Out.

Disney does have a right to express whatever opinion it has on a topic, as long as the shareholders support it.

On the flip side Florida can also (by legal means) **** with disney, like you said.

At the end of the day it all comes down to money. Disney wants to be left alone, Florida wants its sales tax revenue. Of course they will come to a deal

Without clicking the link, is it gay little people? Because man would they cash in on that like nobody's business. I think it's moreso superhero fatigue, lack of recognisable characters and saturation of the streaming market that is leading to this. People want to see spiderman, not the eternals.

If in 5 years Marvel movies and shows aren't making money it's more likely because they're making Bee Man: Legend of the Hive rather than because they're "woke".
