he's obviously up for goat debate, but his recent performances have been questionable. I think it boils down to the fact other people caught up rather than him getting any worse. He was a gamechanger and people studied him
I think he beats Francis and Stipe, but loses to Ciryl.

mma math huh...
i actually predicted Francis to beat Ciryl by decision because of wrestling and made a lot of money from it. Styles make fights
Cormier is a better wrestler than Jones, yet Jones always got the better of him in their matches. It's situational. Jones relies on setups for his takedowns where as Ngannou is so powerful he just brute forces it. Jones won't be able to do that against Ciryl despite being more technical.
i meant in regards to his resume

I don’t think it’s so much that “he put on size” but rather “stopped keeping size off”.
I think he enjoys the powerlifting stuff, and he’d probably naturally get that big if he wasn’t actively keeping his weight down for LHW. Have you seen his brothers?
So it could go either way I guess. He figured if he ever came back he would do it at HW, so why bother keeping weight down. If he never comes back it’s moot.

Jon Jones is the GOAT. Anyone who watched him coming up knows this.
Here was some kid coming out and dominating champions and future HOFs.
Not only was he destroying them, he was doing it at their game.
Oh you're a striker? Cool I'm gonna beat you at stand up.
Oh you like wrestling? No problem, I'll dominate you there too.
Muay thai? Got it, here's a kick to the face.
etc. etc.
Then throw in that this guy was partying and doing coke before fights and still winning....GOAT.There is but one path....we kill them all.

Wrestling is different. Levels are definitely more defined when it comes to wrestling than striking. The best strikers still get caught often. Wrestlers rarely get beat by lesser wrestlers, period.
Jones and Cormier are close enough in wrestling, AND striking even.
Jones/Cormier wrestling is levels and levels above Francis/Ciryl.
For example: It's pretty safe to safe to say a high level wrestler with stop takedowns would fuk over Alex Perierra more often than not, based off his complete lack of ground game vs Adensanya

You're still wrong.
Going by your logic since Jones was barely able to take down Reyes that means he has no chance of taking down someone with a better TDD
It just doesn't work.
For example: It's pretty safe to safe to say a high level wrestler with stop takedowns would fuk over Alex Perierra more often than not, based off his complete lack of ground game vs Adensanya
You're forgetting that Alex wasn't focused on Israels wrestling, he would be vs a wrestler and prepared to knee him in the face at all times. That goes for Izzy too, Pereira was able to take him down, even though he was able to defend takedowns from the best wrestlers in that division.

Reyes is a scrub. That was like one of his only good performances. Jones runs through him 9/10 times.
I remember it being a competitive fight, but pretty sure Jones didn't go in their planning to wrestle him.
If Jones plans a wrestling game plan against Reyes, I guarantee Reyes gets taken down and held down all day.
As for Alex, he gets wrecked by any dominating wrestler, IE: Khamzat, Whittaker with a wrestling game plan.

Jones' wrestling has greatly deteriorated since the DC fights IMO. IIRC he couldn't anything going wrestling wise vs Reyes or Santos, and in general most people's TDD has gotten much better
I don't think he has the strength to throw HW's around in the grappling dept like he did at LHW either. They're just too bigAwesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight.
