Lol I think Messi is better but it's a lie to claim everybody thinks the same. People who think a different player is better aren't the idiots. It's the low IQ trolls who try to pretend either Messi or Ronaldo is chit in order to talk up their own favourite. They're both world class legends.

Messi is obviously more talented.
Kind of like comparing Sam Bankman to Elon Musk. Bankman might do better on some math puzzles, but obviously Elon seems more useful in practice.
Ronaldo is a lot bigger, more of a big moment monster who also can accomplish skills where they are effective.
In their prime, that is.

The Brazilian team is ridiculously stacked. They are the favorites to win for a reason.
I wonder how the 2026 WC is going to work with multiple cities hosting.
Your #FIFAWorldCup 2026 Host Cities:
Atlanta
Boston
Dallas
Guadalajara
Houston
Kansas City
Los Angeles
Mexico City
Miami
Monterrey
New York / New Jersey
Philadelphia
San Francisco Bay Area
Seattle
Toronto

It's basically just a discussion on whether you prefer raw talent and magic or whether you think Ronaldo's clutchness and stats in big finals/games and international career are more important.
There's decent arguments for both but in the end it's also impossible to compare those two to the likes of Pele, Maradona and Cruijff.

Messi is the GOAT of having had his prime coincide with the Spanish golden generation at Barcelona. Team that went down the toilet the day Xavi and Iniesta retired.
Messi with all his technical brilliance can’t drag a team by himself, never proven outside of Barcelona, flees to a farmers league to play for PSG, now he’s fleeing again to the MLS.
If your life was on the line and you could only chose one player to decide a match for you, you can bet your ass people will chose Ronaldo over Messi.300 Forever

Messi has been complete trash so far. His goal in the last game has obscured the fact that for most of the game he did absolutely nothing and looked like he couldn't care less about being there. Argentina look like a weak team and aren't going to win this tournament. My money is on Spain on Germany, both looked class last night.

Does longevity not count for you? Brazilian Ronaldo was insane at his peak but he couldn't sustain it for very long (same with Ronaldinho). With that being said, Messi and CR7 in their prime were just as good as those 2 except they kept it up for a decade so that's why they get chosen over the rest.
There is but one path....we kill them all.

Yeah exactly and repped. He was a zombie all game but had this feeling he'd score and then the media would go all "Messi! Ra ra ra". I feel like he shouldn't even be playing but assume the coach would catch hell if he dropped him. What do i know though, maybe he'll come alive in the next games but at the moment he looks pretty uniinterested. Doesn't seem to have the ability to take on people anymore as his pace seems to have gone.
