I also suspect, as others have, that neither this forum nor the business are long for this world. I checked out the store. Most of the product category pages are either empty or simply list supplements (when the category isn't supplements). Several other indications nobody's minding the store--both literally and figuratively.

In fact: As a retired I.T. Admin I'll tell you just what it looks like: It looks like they lost their site admin and the keys to it went with him/her. They don't actually have admin access to it, themselves, anymore.

I'll eventually be needing supplement re-supply on a couple things. My first impulse is always to try a vendor's forum's store or sponsors. But what I'm seeing, here, with the complete lack of attention to the site, would encourage me to look elsewhere.

A few weeks ago it was down for a few days and came back, so evidently somebody still has some access.

Would really be a shame to lose this forum. There is a huge wealth of knowledge archived here.

After some months away it was sad and somewhat surprising to see all the spam everywhere and a distinct lack of posts from the usual crew. I hope the forum comes back to life.

I like these forums and have profited much from reading here, though mostly I just use it to log my training anymore. Good quality, no-nonsense info for the most part and I like the community. Hope it doesn't die.

I'm on a few ******** gym groups and the lack of knowledge about equipment in spite of 5-6 figure membership numbers is astounding. Then again, these people consider guys like Coop to be experts. :x Hope BB forums keep going.

He lost my respect when he recommended BowFlex adjustable dumbbells, he didn't say they were the best, but he didn't say to avoid them either.

Enlighten me: Why should they be avoided?

They wouldn't be my first choice, but, if I come across a killer deal I'll jump on it. There are many things I do with DBs for which they wouldn't be useful, but, other things for which they would. Having a pair would reduce the number of plate-changes necessary on my Hoit adjustable DBs.

It's been a LONG standing opinion that Bowflex in general is a garbage company, that puts out garbage products. These DB's were once sold at Dick's Sporting Goods so they were easy to check out in person, but I'd say about 95% of the time the models I saw at the store were broken. Lots of plastic parts and little moving mechanisms internally, so unless you absolutely baby them there is a good chance they'll break on you eventually. Compare that to sets of Powerblocks, which I've owned several that were probably 15-20 years old and were still operating like new. Or Ironmasters where the same could be said, longevity wise there really aren't any concerns.

Long story short, Coop makes money off people clicking the links to products on his website. So his opinion is biased and he'll likely never give a real recommendation (or opinion) because he wants to make money off your visit. No respectable home gym owner would recommend ANYTHING Bowflex when there are better options available.

this forum was the only place I could go to and talk shop with other nerds like myself about vintage equipment. Literally nowhere else. Until these young bodybuilders put up videos using a Pendulum Squat, no one (except in a forum like this) knew what it was. Good luck finding a discussion about Randy Coyle and a Swing Squat. Yes, this forum is unique to say the least and even though I'm not on as much as I used to be, I'd be very sad to see it go.

It was too many years ago to remember, but what does one need to actually create a BB.com forum account? Is there any email account verification involved? At a minimum they should not automatically approve any new accounts where the user is 52 years old, that seems to be what each of these spam accounts are showing. Better yet, you should only be allowed on the forums as a registered bb.com customer and actually buy something before they activate your forum account.

    Yup.

Only way to stop it is require the very first post, at the very least, be moderated.

That, of course, would require there actually be a moderation team.

Too much competition these days, they used to be one of the only reliable sources online but now pretty much everything is sold on Amazon. Why order here when I get Prime shipping, discounts for monthly recurring deliveries, and rewards points?

Why isn't there anymore? Suffolk has been the only active mod for a while and even he is gone seemingly now (or on a break).

All they need to do is give me the ability to delete threads in this section, I'd check in a few times a day and clean up this nonsense. But they probably aren't too worried about it, not a lot of regulars anyway.

I've said it before, BB.com could easily get my money but they've pulled my favorite product. Years ago they had the BEST workout clothing money could buy, better than Gym Shark that's popular today, but they discontinued their Raglan style sleeveless shirts (wearing one in my profile Pic). If they brought them back today I'd buy multiple shirts of every color to last me the rest of my life. Still waiting BB. Com....

So really, what is our escape plan to a new forum? Given the massive amount of spam, I can't imagine this place will last much longer. I've already been going back and saving any info I might need in the future (like HealthNut's vendors for nice cams and sprockets and chains).

I'd be open to moving to a ******** group, WhatsApp group, Signal or Reddit. Basically anywhere is going to be better than here. I'm happy to help moderate if desired.

This place is done. I took a little break over the holidays from checking things and come back to basically all spam. Sucks because this place used to be amazing but I think I'm done here. I'll be on reddit for the most part, it's not perfect but it's the easiest to keep track of and ******** sucks.

But where else will you go to get your "Black Magic death spells to kill my husband In Bristol"? And what about a more generic "Instant Death Spell To Kill That Work Fast in Chelmsford"?

It's a bummer the spells are only regional. What if you want an instant death spell for Bristol, and it's not aimed at your husband?

While the spam is incredibly annoying, it's only done if people stop contributing, thereby killing it.
