This place was the place to come for gym equipment a few years back. I am not a huge fan of GGR or any other facebook pages on home gyms that are live these days. I come a few times a month to see what is going on this forum but it is sad to see that it is not as popular as it was before…
I wish that most people would come on here but i think that outside people that are already here it is a matter of time before this place becomes history!
Still great to see you guys are still doing great![]---[] Ivanko Barbell Crew #54 []---[]

Depending on what part of MN you're in, I may have already ignored your ads. Heh.
I think the market's in a new normal after the pandemic purchasing glut, gyms reopening, and with all the current economic doom and gloom. Still waiting for the dude that bought a full set of roundheads or something in 2020 to let them go for pennies, but alas.

A big killer of these types for forums is too many stickys. Ex. Someone looking for info on barbells will come here, read the sticky and be done. There is no need to ask a question and spark a conversation about it. It's great information but it kills the need for discussion.
I use a similar board for my Mustang https://www.vintage-mustang.com/ it's very active. Sure, we have the same questions asked repeatedly and we have the same discussions over and over. But enthusiasts love that.
I would remove all the spam posts and unstick the stickies.67Vert

Respectfully, I have to disagree with the idea of removing the resource stickies for a what I would call highly specialized sub-forum such as this.
I feel as though the valuable threads would get lost in the abyss of the redundant question threads over time. It may deter additional discussion at times, however it's good to have the extensive/informative threads readily available at all times to save time and enhance efficiency in finding valuable info IMO.^^^^ Wild-land Search And Rescue Crew ^^^^

I'm sad that most of the historical content seems to be lost. This was a great resource for lots of different pieces of equipment. If you were looking at something used/older, there was probably a thread on it. It can't cost much to run most of this forum, so shame on BB.com for the neglect.

That would be good if they did elect you a deputy mod, periodically clear the crap threads off the forum...there's so many spam threads right now that I'm tempted to duplicate this titled thread, or maybe the regulars band together and post this thread title as well, or similar titled threads and see if the mods see it and finally get the hint.

Does anyone even know who the moderators are for this forum? Is it possible to get new ones? The spam has gotten insane. I'll volunteer to moderate. I don't post much because I rarely get new equipment, but I check in here almost daily and love reading the posts. I'd be willing to clean up the spam and ban the spammers. Currently we have at least 2 solid pages of nothing but spam. The real posts get buried instantly.
I'm a weightlifter, just starting to add some bodybuilding into my training. I'm mostly here for the equipment forum.

I am a long-time member, but infrequent poster. The decline in forum use and popularity disappoints me, also. I will be further disappointed if the historical content of some specific forums, especially automotive, becomes inaccessible. More than the social aspect, I appreciate the preserved knowledge. However, I understand there is probably little to no incentive for most forum owners to maintain forums without traffic, to which I contribute little. I have wondered specifically about the lack of effective moderation on this forum. Now I understand better. I have very much enjoyed in the past following the “home gym build” threads here, and continued to check in occasionally for any interesting, new content. Very little of that now.
This forum, specifically a “heads up” post by ndmike99 in 2011, allowed me to purchase a Parabody rack, FID bench, lat tower, 300lb weight set, and accessories for $200. That became the nucleus of my “home gym”, and prompted me to move on from the Bowflex unit I purchased new many years previous. Except for the bar and that specific lat tower, which was replaced by a later, upgraded revision of the same model, I continue to use that equipment every week. I am still grateful for that purchase opportunity.

I considered applying for a moderator position, but don't meet the time-in-forum requirement. Finally, yesterday, I sent the moderators' email address an email saying "I know I don't qualify in that respect, but I do in all the others. Give me the permissions and I'll go-about whacking the spam and nuking the offending accounts." Haven't heard anything back yet.
From all I'm reading here, and the obvious, blatant neglect I've observed, I'll be surprised if I do hear back.

I still use a Parabody 843 with lat tower, leg holdown, and dip handles that I purchased about 18 years ago. It replaced a Soloflex. For several years now I have been looking at upgrading but I haven't found anything that I think I'd like quite as well at a reasonable price. Those pop pins are just so convenient.

Doesn't surprise me at all, that was a great rack! I'd have stuck with my Bodycraft F430 but once you convert to a half rack it's hard going back to a full rack. Even though there is a ton of working space between the uprights I still felt cramped and just couldn't get the feeling out of my head. The new Bodycraft F740 looks insane with the updated sandwich hooks, weight storage add on, and cable crossover. But that's a painful price tag at $3,599!
