Why would ANDERSON SILVA take a dive against Jake Paul?
The guy is fkin 47 years old. Even though he's a freak, he's still human. Jake is a 25 year old (probably juiced) athlete who has been training and living like a high level professional boxer for 3 years now. People really need to open their eyes. He's not going to be world champ, or get anywhere close, but he has surpassed the title of "YouTube boxer". He is a real fighter.
He will probably end up beating Nate as well.

It's funny how much people underestimate Jake Paul. He's been training boxing professionally for quite a few years now and he's pretty athletic. Just because he's a clown on youtube and acts like a spoilt brat doesn't mean he can't be a decent boxer. He's no world beater in boxing but he can stand his own against old MMA fighters which isn't really that big of a surprise.

I think it's time for people to start taking Jake Paul seriously. it is impressive that a guy who has been training professional boxing for a few years (and presumably a striking martial art) was able to do this from being a youtube star. he's probably not beating any professional boxer in their 20's and 30's but for what he's been able to achieve, it's probably not something 1/1000 people would be able to do if they were put in his exact same position. He does seem to have natural physical power and is obviously has some sort of athletic background.
with that said, Silva is old. but still, he's been a UFC world champion and one of the best strikers the UFC has ever seen. but at the same time boxing is different. Silva was uncharacteristically aggressive in the latter rounds instead of laying back as a counter-puncher. He paid for it in the 8th round. Alot of times I felt like, a prime Silva would have countered Jake's telegraphed punches. It wasn't a dive. Even if he didn't "dive", Silva would have lost the fight anyways.positivity brah crew

It's a combination of age and Jake Paul being better than people want to admit.
Anderson was still good enough to get past Chavez Jr not long ago, and while Chavez Jr has always been a lazy hype job he was at one point a world champion, has a lot of experience, wasn't an old man etc.
If Jake was this joke with no ability Disney guy then he would have lost to silva, its really that simple.
I do not get the hate against Jake, I've never seen him claiming he's a world class boxer or going to win titles or anything like that, he's just a kid who clearly trains hard and is doing his own thing, he's been a very good promoter for Amanda Serrano and I love how he keeps on Dana's neck about the disgraceful fighter pay in UFC (which is why these ufc legends keep fighting jake for a retirement fund)
People keep saying jake needs to "fight a real boxer"
For a guy with 5 fights and zero amateur record, a normal fighter like that would be fighting losers from the club circuit ranked 400 in the world or so.
We are talking guys with a pro card who box in school gyms, with a record of like 2 wins and 14 losses and have zero athletecism, that's the normal level a guy with jakes experience woukd be fighting. And those guys would be wiped out by Jake Paul's right hand in the first round or two. Anderson silva is a lot better than that even at 47.

All that "bet" stuff right before the fight and all the chatter about Silva getting KOed twice in training has me a little skeptical. Theres a lot of money in fight promotion and Jake has an image hes building, so its not out of the realm of possibility that he offered Anderson a big chunk of change to "partner" with him and then do the fighter union idea using Anderson as the face of the union.
Anderson really has nothing to gain by winning except money but jake has a lot rising on his hype train. At this point im willing to give it the benefit of the doubt because Anderson has been a great competitor his whole career so I dont see him throwing fights, but I can also see it being very financially gainful for him to do so at this point with not much downside. For every man, there is a sentence, a string of words, that has the power to destroy him
