it's an okay card, nothing to get extremely hyped about.

i don't think a win from Allen or Kattar gets them a Volk title shot. He's probably gonna fight Islam anyways.

Whoever wins probably has to fight Holloway/Rodriguez/Ortega/Emmett and the winner of that may get a title shot. Ortega is coming from a loss, Holloway has already fought like 3 times and got dominated the 3rd time worse than the first two.

Rodriguez doesn't have that impressive of a streak going on. Even if they did deserve it, I think Volk is just too good. But Allen probably has the best chance out of any of these guys. But Allen vs Volk is a hard sell PPV wise, he doesn't fight very often and not alot of people know him. Not even worth a co-co-main spot .... lol.

Agreed. I think Volk is smart, he goes and fights Islam which is a win win situation. He gets a chit ton of PPV money and likely loses by sub but is a champ for another year at his weight class before fighting Allen/Kattar. Even if he thinks he will defend his belt, it's still another year before he has to do that.

Every single fight I've seen of Hooper, the commentators are always saying how he's evolving and is still young etc. and every single fight he is seconds away from being flattened, then gets lucky with a submission. Not this time. He just doesn't have that killer instict, I think he's a smart fighter but needs to probably focus on BJJ and compete in that sport rather than MMA. His stand-up is improving but way too slowly for being already 23. There's 17 year olds now who are absolute killers.

Volk has been very active, nobody deserves a title shot in the featherweight division, I'd say it's the perfect time to fight Islam, let somebody in featherweight prove their worth first and maybe in a year somebody can challenge.
