They are a problem in the cage but more importantly they are gonna become a problem for ufc long term.
Western society is so pussified that they can't compete with them in any way due to the orders of magnitude gap in toughness, and South Americans are at a huge style disadvantage
Pretty soon the UFC is gonna be overran by dagestanis in funny hats and it's gonna turn western fans off when the novelty wears off.

Pussified or not, thankfully western fighters keep things exciting and worth tuning in to watch the fight. You can wrestle bears and be as tough as you want, but if eveyone falls asleep watching your fights then forget about those big paychecks that they're all after. They can go back to being tough in their remote village where no one sees them. This is, first and foremost, an entertainment business, so do your job and entertain.
I'm never excited about any of the Degastani fighters, almost an instant skip. I only watched Khabib because I wanted to see if someone can get a lucky KO against him and ruin his undefeated record. Makhachev already got a loss blemish so it's whatever now, don't care. I highly doubt he'll ever get the same hype as Khabib no matter how many fights he wins going forward, and he'll always depend on another high profile fighter to carry his PPV ass for him. This is why they are trying to call out Volk to leech off his excitement.
And yes, Dana better use his head and do something about it. I'm sure he understand exactly what I'm talking about.

They're some tough mfkers. I date a Tartarstan women and she's tough as nails. That whole area of russia is pretty brutal as far as sports go. However their fights and politics are boring.
They do BKF a lot over there. Train judo and sambo at a young age."There are some who do not fear death for they are more afraid of really living."-Ancient proverb

Yeah I guess when you live in a poor sh*thole country with nothing to do the only chance for you to break out is to become a dominant fighter.
Too bad they chose the most boring fighting style to dominate at, which will come back to bite them. I'd like to see if Dana dares to make Islam the headliner for next PPV card if his opponent is anyone other than Volkanovski, I expect a very low buy rate.

style/regional dominance come and go in MMA, but the game keeps evolving so eventually a new skillset/style will overtake the current dominant one

for every makichev and khabib we have a daniel cormier, or jon jones. i think it'l be fine with people like bo nickal coming up. there's plenty of people coming up through the ranks that have weightclass GOAT potential from everywhere

Agreed. I seriously think Bo would get rekt by Islam as well if they were in the same weight class. If not in wrestling, we saw a very skilled kickboxer in Makhachev. What makes the champions exciting to watch is a new young blood rushing from the depths of rankings up in their prime and a possibility existing of the champ losing their title. Even though we've had many long-raining champs, it was always exciting because someone might do it. Someone might dethrone them. At the moment because it's so fresh and we have a past example with Khabib, we don't think anyone can beat Islam. One of the reasons why people don't like him as a champ - they just don't think there's anyone in LW who can take him on. Not today and not in the next couple of years at least.
