Yeah, and since I'm a huge Rocky fan/purist I am NOT a fan of the whole Creed franchise at all. This looks like it might have potential to be mediocre though.

I love all the Rocky movies (except 5) and the Creed movies too. Why didn't you like the Creed movies?

Loved Creed, thought it bought new life to the story. The second one had its moments, and I liked seeing the Drago character fleshed out a bit.

Rocky was something special and Creed is just like a really cheap and inferior imitator (the first one at least was SOME original aspects to the storyline 2 and this one are plagiarizing ideas from Rocky so hard) riding on it's coattails. Also don't much care for the Creed character and think Michael B Jordan is kind of lame in them imo.

In fairness, I just can't help to compare them to the Rocky movies. If I could just simply weigh them on their own merits, and without comparing, I might think they are okay.

Lastly it rustled me quite a bit way back when a bunch of blacks were bytching about Stallone winning a best supporting actor in Creed and Jordan and the director not winning anything, and that Stallone only had a chance to win that because of them. Hey idiots...Stallone created the (far superior) Rocky Franchise which Creed is simply riding on the coattails of, and has accomplished FAR more and is FAR more wealthy than either of them.

I think it looks pretty bad. The acting made me cringe a few times just in the trailer, srs. Michael B Jordan is directing which is probably why it looks kinda low budget and a bit off.

I don't remember any of that awards stuff. The Creed movies aren't as good as good as the first 2 Rocky movies but they were on par with the others in the series. Also give Creed 2 a shot if you haven't seen it. It's better than the first one

I'll watch it - but the relationship between Rocky and Creed made the first two for me really. Not sure how much I'll like this 'I feel bad because he went to jail and I didn't' take.

They could've had like a Rocky death early in the movie just lile they did with Mick in Rocky 3, but to just not have him at all is just dumb

Generic, predictable, boring characters, poor actors, black black black black etc. looks like BET channel made a cheap tv series.

Pretty Ricky Conlan was a good villain in Creed 1, I actually loved 1. 2 was amazing too.
