My doc and barber recently confirmed that I'm exhibiting signs of male pattern baldness around my vortex area + some receding on one side of my hairline. I'm in my late 20s so concerned af. I don't have an issue with taking oral fin/topical min but what I have an issue with is the potential sides I can get from fin like gyno/sexual side affects. Any of you guys who took it had bad side effects? And did it make hair regrow?

ya. i would if i was starting to noticeably bald.
if youre really worried about the side effects, do some blood work and start off slow on the dosage then gradually increase to whatever the effective dose is. if you notice any alarming side effects then obviously just stop immediately.
honestly, i wouldnt let some random anecdotes online scare me away from using a drug that has been on the market for something like 3 decades.

My personal experience, I am not saying this will happen to everyone:
-Noticed receeding temples and i was like nw 1.5 at the time
-Took dutasteride for 3 months everything was ok
-Gradually, i started losing visual attraction. Like i looked at girls asses and im like what is supposed to be attractive about some lumps/curves?
-One day on the computer (i spent like 8 hours on it), i noticed i couldnt focus on the center of the screen and it was really hard to concentrate
-That night i have the most intense panic attack ever and got so dissociated. i think the chemicals in my brain got nuked and i was borderline detached from reality. I think the mix of dutasteride and panic attack were the obvious cause.
-For about 2 years i had very blunted emotions, dissociated, starbursts/halos, sensitivity to stimulus, bad memory, etc
-Worked really hard and was able to reverse it but took many years (4-5)
-im at 100% now and i know im a rare case but im sure these drugs **** with your brain chemicals

I won’t touch that poison with a thousand foot pole.
I’ve had one transplant of 3100 grafts 2 years ago and it completely brought back my hairline. I’m scheduled for my 2nd transplant in March with a double board certified plastic surgeon in Manhattan. First procedure cost me 14k and this second one is 15k. I don’t give a fuk. I took the Nope Train to FukThatVille the day I shaved my head just to see what I’d look like.
I have a ton of good donor hair which is why the doctor is able to do so many grafts. And if I need a 3rd procedure I can get another 2000 grafts out of my neck beard for the crown. It’s worth every penny.

It suppresses your hormones. If you want to chemically fuk with your hormones that's on you.
Just shave your head. I did it just before turning 25. Literally no one cares. No one can even picture me with hair by this point.
I went through the same crossroads. I did the nizoral/rogaine route it barely did anything. My thinking was this. I did that for 1.5 years straight and hated it. I got to a point where I didn't want to do it anymore so I said do I suffer through thinking about this stupid feminine **** about hair every single day for years to come, or shave my head and move on with my life. The next steps were taking hormone suppressing pills or a 5k+ hair transplant that takes several months for results, you look like chit for those months, and then you still have to take that pill. I shaved my head and realized it isn't as bad as everyone made it seem. They told me it was like a fooking death sentence. All insecurity disappeared instantly. Never looked back.
I literally wake up and have nothing to worry about hair wise. It just looks good, shave 2-3 times a week for 1 min, and I can just roll out of bed and go if I wanted. No bed head/hat hair and no styling or worrying how it looks.
Completely up to you brah, but I'm just offering the mental clarity of the exact same thing I went though and I don't think you understand what you have to do for the rest of your time if you decided to take a pill/hair transplant. You have to take it daily or most days for years and years and don't even know what it's doing to your body.

I've read a lot of stuff and most people suggest taking it along with a HT for best results. Why would you continuously pay like 10k for grafts that will just keep shedding over time? At that point you shave your head and live your life. I can't even fathom doing something like that unless I go all in. Even then I wouldn't waste all that time, effort and money.

I was on fin for almost 10 years. It worked great at first but it slowly lost it's effectiveness. No dink problems and still get hard.
I made the switch to dutasteride last year and have been able to hold ground and not lose anymore. The hair came back thicker and not shedding in the shower anymore. I just switched to a topical dutasteride and it seems like it's working just as good as the pill.
I hear topical fin is just as effective and you can get it with minoxadil, which is a 2 for 1US Navy Vet

I really researched into this. I would not take Finesterdae imo. Even if you dont get any sides, do you like the idea of taking some big pharma made pill every day for the rest of your life? Plus who knows what other effects those chemicals could cause to your body. IMO, just get a conservative hairtransplant done depending on your hairloss, age, and donor area. I recommend you do it after 30 as the doctor will be able to predict your loss pattern by that point and will come up with a design that could look good even as you lose more hair as time passes. Remember transplanted hair does not go away since it is resistant to DHT.

Thanks for saying this. First time I heard about this, but found this thread.
https://forum.propeciahelp.com/t/pho...changes/7429/6Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.
