Stick is archaic but is still the more used transmission in the world. Not being able to drive stick makes you look like a retard as a man. I think it should be good to know how to drive a stick despite you may not end up ever owning one.

It's a handy skill to have and could even be life saving in some situations, but there are simply less and less manual cars around. It's not implausible for a person to have gone their entire life never having been offered the chance to drive one or learn how. It's not like most people couldn't learn how, it's just that most people haven't learned how. The driving experience is being abstracted away from the user more and more anyway so it's unlikely this will change anytime soon if ever.

A man doesn't need to own a manual transmission car, he just needs to know how to operate it.

I had a '92 civic with a b16 back in the day. That 5 speed tranny was a joy. Loved that thing RIP. I've driven a lot of manual shift cars but that one stood out.

only like 10 percent of cars are manual transmission, its outdated and a pain in the ass to drive. When I was in high school late 90s early 2000s only the poor kids drove a stick shift car it was usually some old beater they were cheaper too.

What has more steps, an automatic transmission or a manual

Educate yourself on what complicated means while you’re thinking about it

For the boyos who don't know how to drive stick, you also won't be able to ride a motorcycle because it's the same concept.

I find it unsurprising that Harley-Davidson is slowly dying due to a lack of interest in bikes, it's because most men these days can neither drive stick nor ride a bike.

In a sports car, there's nothing more satisfying than coming out of a sharp turn and shifting into a higher gear and accelerating.

On a sportbike, there's nothing more satisfying than coming out of a sharp turn, ripping the throttle and pulling a wheelie....

If you've never done this, you ain't really a man....

Why the emotional response? Manuals are outdated, anyone who picks a manual over an automatic to drive daily are usually guys who watch the man show and follow the rules of being a man like only men eat steak medium rare with blood, lol I say eat steak however you want I dont care because a real man doesnt care what others think.

I cant believe you are mad over people not liking manual transmission cars.

    Automatic drivers:

    1. Signal lane change
    2. Check blind spot
    3. Change lane
    4. Floor it
    5. Wait a second for the car to decide to change gear
    6. Keep flooring it
    7. Wait another second for the car to decide that another downshift is needed
    8. Piss off everyone you're holding up now

    Manual drivers:

    1. Signal lane change
    2. Check blind spot
    3. Downshift to gear perceived to be necessary to be in powerband
    4. Change lane
    5. Floor it

And for bonus, manual driver in automatic car:

    1. Signal lane change
    2. Check blind spot
    3. Start blipping throttle to force car to downshift without gaining speed
    4. Change lane
    5. Floor it

There is a reason why people in traffic jams in NA get stuck in the "floor it, then brake hard" cycle - they never really learned how to drive.

Driving a manual car forces the 90% of morons who shouldn't be on the road, to think 2 seconds ahead that they otherwise wouldn't.

You can always tell where the manual cars are in a traffic slowdown, they're the ones not braking all the time.
    I see the issue

Your experience with automatic is limited to chitboxes. Lol @ “waiting a second” to downshift and needing to floor it for some response

Sorry about your poor bro. Good luck beating your chest with your outdated poverty tech

You literally should not be driving on public roads.

Interesting! The reason manual is dead in us, is because they prefer to have a burger/eating in one hand while steering with the other

If they aren't doing that they are jerkinf to blacked.com while they have their phone set up on the dashboard.

intaresting thrad. Burgerlandcels usually like to act alpha n ****, I was ready for you guys to blame all the liberals, soyboys and women for this 90% number but most of you seem proud of it lol. No one is asking you drive a manual daily but the fact most of you can't even operate one is pathetic

When you make a point I’ll counter it

Pretending manuals take less steps to operate isn’t a point. It’s foolishness

I learned to drive stick by stealing my moms honda accord (coup) everytime parents went out on weekends. I knew the concept and slowly figured it out. I would drive around the neighborhood..... pull up to the knucklehead crews . They were like wtf . 13/14 years old. Ded fukin srs. 1993ish.

The 93 coup 2 door was actually pretty fast. I used to beat any stock honda that tried me. This was after i turned 16. I never saw another 2 door accord back then... only civics. The accords in S Fl were all 4 door. My always thought my moms car was rare but i guess it wasn't. Maybe just in my city idk

    Autos suck for many reasons.
Manuals require a level of skill to realize their benefits.

How do you not see the massive generalization your making here? You're essentially screaming that you don't know what you are talking about. God man, think.

Arguing with rentcels has made you weak

I’m going to pick up some food. While I’m driving I’ll try to keep track of all the moments where using an extra foot and my right hand constantly would be easier than pressing one button and the brake pedal.

If you've never done this, you ain't really a man....

these people living in america don't want to give up their freedoms, yet they beg for a car that leaves you less in control; it takes some of those freedoms away.
and here we are, parks the car without you, shifts without you, stops without you, drives without you, turns the lights on without you...pretty soon they'll be turning the car off without your permission. it's already in the works.
